New UEX Night Trains To Skiing Fun, From Germany And The Netherlands

The long-established Urlaubs-Express (UEX) is significantly expanding its ski night train service for the upcoming winter season. For the first time, direct connections from northern and western Germany to the legendary ski resort of Schladming will be offered. The trains will stop along the way in Kitzbühel, Zell am See, and St. Johann im Pongau, among other locations.

  • NEW: Travel directly from Germany and the Netherlands to Kitzbühel, Zell am See and Schladming with the holiday express train.
  • Berlin special during the ski holidays in the federal capital
  • Exclusive overnight trip to Ötztal, Landeck and St. Anton
  • Car train between Hamburg and Munich/Innsbruck

In addition, the holiday express will start for the first time from the Netherlands towards the Alps and offers numerous exclusive night train connections from Amsterdam via Utrecht, s'Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven, Venlo, Mönchengladbach, Cologne and Siegburg, including to Landeck, St. Anton and the Salzburg region.

The UEX ski season, operated by Cologne-based provider Train4you, starts on December 26, 2025, and runs until March. A special train will be running for the Berlin ski holidays, connecting the capital overnight with destinations including Munich, Jenbach, Innsbruck, Ötztal, Landeck, and St. Anton.

The evening departure times make it possible to arrive at the train station relaxed after work and wake up refreshed the next morning in the middle of the winter sports area.

"We are very pleased to be able to significantly expand our night train service once again. The holiday express offers almost emission-free travel to and from the ski resorts and, with its overnight journeys, allows for two extra full days of vacation – without the stress of driving in traffic jams, snow and ice," says UEX media manager Eduard Bopp.

The holiday express train between Hamburg and Munich/Innsbruck can also be booked as a car-carrying train.
