Music Bands Set The Tone Again In Brixental

From May 18th to 21st, 2023, Brixental will once again be the stage for brass bands. The International Music Band Meeting is taking place for the 8th time, where locals and guests can look forward to four days full of musical highlights.

A total of 13 bands and music groups from Austria, Germany, South Tyrol, Switzerland and the Netherlands will be arriving in Brixental next week to celebrate the brass band music from Thursday to Sunday. In typical costume, the more than 310 musicians present sounds from their home regions.

Night of traditional costumes with Viera Blech

The starting signal for the 8th Int. Music band meeting falls on Thursday 18 May at 8 p.m. at the bandstand on the village square, when the conductor of the Dutch Music Association Excelsior Twello raises the baton for the opening concert. On Friday, the bands will head high on a guided hike on the Hahnenkamm and on the Gaisberg. At 7 p.m. it’s time to line up for the marching music line-up: in unison we walk through the streets of Kirchberg to the arena365, where the night of traditional costumes with Viera Blech takes place at 8 p.m.

Saturday dedicated to the guest concerts

On Saturday music lovers can draw from the full in the village center of Kirchberg. From 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the individual bands will give guest concerts in the pavilions on the village square and Pöllmühle. At 6:30 p.m. the vehicle dedication ceremony of the volunteer fire brigade will take place on the village square, followed by an indoor party. On Sunday, a concert by the Kirchberg music band during a morning pint as part of the hall festival is the crowning glory of a weekend dedicated to brass bands.
