Kitzbuhel Tourism Opens Its Traditional Advent Market.

The Kitzbühel Advent was solemnly opened in the historic city center with the lighting of the first candle on the Advent wreath by Kitzbühel Tourism President Signe Reisch.

Kitzbühel is known far beyond the borders as a destination with tradition and extraordinary charm. During the Christmas season, the region tells its own winter wonderland in front of the picturesque backdrop of the colorful Kitzbühel facades. Until Thursday, December 26, the Advent market in Hinterstadt and Stadtpark is open every Wednesday through Saturday.

Baking cookies, storyteller and crib exhibition. The smell of hot chestnuts and fruit punch is in the air. The traditional Kitzbühel Advent awakens childhood memories. The Advent market in the 750-year-old inner city opens its doors from 27 November, every Wednesday to Friday from 14:00 to 20:00, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 20:00. More than 30 lovingly decorated stalls offer regional, culinary delights and traditional craftsmanship. Mulled wine is drunk from the newly designed Advent cups, while performances by local choirs and music groups provide an atmospheric setting. Children can shorten the waiting for the Christ Child with handicrafts, pastoral bread baking, pony riding or a ride on the nostalgic carousel.

The pre-Christmas season in Kitzbühel and its holiday villages offers an atmospheric program for young and old. From concerts, walk-in Advent calendars to Christkindlpost and children's carousel, the region is varied.

In Kitzbühel include Nikolauseinzüge, traditional Barbara eggs at the mine Kupferplatte in Jochberg, the contemplative Advent in the Wildlife Park Aurach and the advent of advent in Reith, where a new Christmas window is opened daily. Another highlight will be the concerts of the Wiltener Sängerknaben on the 7th of December. For the 200th anniversary of "Silent Night, Holy Night" on December 12, Tyrolean wandering singers will tell how this song became a world hit.
