Kitzbuhel Offers Tours, Medals & Concerts This Summer

Kitzbuhel has a range of offering this summer.

On August 4th, 18th and 25th, outstanding artists will be guest with high-quality and situation-adapted programs in Kitzbühel from 8 p.m. with 70 minutes of music without breaks in the Kitzbühel State Music School. The family concert traditionally takes place on August 11th, for young and old and everyone in between. 45 minutes of excitement is guaranteed without a break at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

August 4, 2021 - Schubert Octet

A chamber music work the size of a large symphony literally demands to be placed in the hands of experienced orchestral musicians. This time it is members of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the double bass player Johannes Gasteiger who are bringing Franz Schubert's octet back to Kitzbühel after a quarter of a century.

August 11, 2021 - Punch and the Peanut Princess

Seeing young and older people laugh together - this takes on new meaning after months of social seclusion. That is why the team around the dramaturge and drummer Daniel Kartmann is inviting a puppeteer to Kitzbühel this time. Gregor Oehmann has the Kasperl with him for the two family performances - and the peanut princess.

August 18, 2021 - Grand Tour

Dorothee Oberlinger goes on a grand tour with Sergio Ciomei through the most important music centers of the Baroque era. The trip leads to Venice, Rome, Paris, Leipzig and London. This is a first for Kitzbühel, as it is the first evening with recorder and harpsichord since the summer concerts were founded in 1978. Good things sometimes take a while.

August 25, 2021 - Piano recital

Whoever invites the pianist and organist Michael Schöch to a concert is spoiled for choice. He is the winner of prestigious competitions in both categories - Kitzbühel did not want to miss the chance to break new ground with the 24 Preludes by Frèdèric Chopin and decided on the piano. One of these preludes served as a template for Rachmaninoff's Variations op. 22, great literature for a special evening.
