Kai Lebrecht Takes Over As Managing Director Of Feldbergbahnen

Kai Lebrecht has taken over as Managing Director of Feldbergbahnen GmbH on August 1, 2025. He succeeds Julian Probst, who is leaving the company at his own request after three years of service.

Kai Lebrecht brings with him many years of experience in managing various medium-sized companies. Most recently, he served as interim managing director, where he digitized central administrative processes and established a comprehensive controlling and financial system. As a founder and managing director, he has made a name for himself in the region in the areas of human resources and strategic management.

"With Mr. Lebrecht, we are gaining a highly structured and strategically minded leader for Feldbergbahnen," explains Feldberg Mayor Johannes Albrecht. "He combines operational experience with analytical strength – particularly in the areas of digitalization, controlling, and organizational development, which is of great value for the further development of our company." Mr. Lebrecht has deep roots in the Freiburg region and has had close ties to the Feldberg for decades – both family-related and athletically: As a long-time skier, he knows the area firsthand and thus brings not only his professional qualifications but also a personal connection to his new role.

The new Managing Director will continue the successful work of his predecessor, Julian Probst, and oversee important future projects, including the strategic orientation as a year-round destination and upcoming investment decisions in the area of technical facilities.

Julian Probst took over as managing director of Feldbergbahnen GmbH in March 2022. During his tenure, he succeeded in merging the previously separately managed divisions of the three shareholder municipalities of Feldberg, Todtnau, and St. Blasien. By establishing joint structures, Feldbergbahnen was positioned for the future and professionally.

Kai Lebrecht is looking forward to his new role in the Black Forest: "The Feldbergbahnen are not only an economically important company, but also a defining force for the entire region. I see great potential to further drive this successful development – together with the Feldbergbahnen team, the municipal shareholders, and our local partners."

With this change in leadership, Feldbergbahnen GmbH is continuing its established course: professional, reliable, and with a clear focus on the challenges and opportunities of alpine tourism in times of climate change.
