Heidi Reveals Top Ski Trends & What’S New For 25/26

Marcus Blunt, co-founder of Heidi, comments: “Last season Heidi took more people than ever to the mountains since we started in 2018. With bookings already soaring for 25/26, it’s clear that ski trip demand is not slowing down - including short breaks, which are up by 58% year-on-year.”
- Latest booking data reveals the hottest (or should that be coolest?) ski destinations for the 25/26 season.
- PLUS: new winter flight routes, resort infrastructure upgrades, and the most anticipated ski hotel openings.
“For people who want ski holiday freedom without faff, Heidi offers a unique combination of unmatched choice, easy customisation, value for money, and peace of mind. This winter, with more flight options, infrastructure upgrades in key resorts, and cool new ski hotels opening, there’s lots to get excited about.”
Demand for short ski breaks continues to rise:
With Heidi, you can book any ski holiday duration between 2-14 nights. Prefer to squeeze in two ski weekends per season rather than one longer trip? Is a 5-night trip more suited to your budget and annual leave than a whole week? You’re not alone - Heidi bookings for short breaks (2-5 nights) are up by 58% year-on-year.
Chamonix is one of Heidi’s most popular short break resorts. Just one hour from Geneva, it offers high-altitude, big mountain skiing and snowboarding over four separate ski areas. Its charming town has plenty to do, including lively aprés-ski. It’s affordable, too, with a wide range of accommodation.
- 4-night Chamonix package in March for two people: £518pp (Thurs 19th - Mon 23rd March 2026) at Hôtel Le Labrador. Includes return London - Geneva flights and airport transfers.
Easter skiing is back with a bang:
With Easter Sunday falling earlier on 5th April 2026 (versus 20th April this year), Heidi is seeing a boost in 2026 April bookings - up by 60% compared to last year.
Heidi recommends going high-altitude for late-season ski trips due to better snow conditions. Bookings reflect this, with some of Europe’s highest resorts among April’s top sellers - including La Plagne (up 350%), Tignes (up 80%), and family-friendly favourite Avoriaz up by 33%.
Perched at 1,800m, the purpose-built resort of Avoriaz is known for its snow-sure slopes within the Portes du Soleil ski area. This winter, it’s welcoming new affordable accommodation in the form of Résidence Pierre Vacances Capell, which you can book now with Heidi:
- 7-night self-catering Easter package in Avoriaz for a family of four: £711pp (Sun 5th - Sun 12th April) at Résidence Pierre Vacances Capell. Includes return London Gatwick - Geneva flights and airport transfers.
Cheaper resorts are trending for February half term:
If you’re skiing earlier in the season in February, opting for the highest-altitude resorts isn’t such a priority. Heidi is seeing resorts known for their wallet-friendlier prices in high demand for February, including Bankso (up by 100%) and Borovets (up 136%) in Bulgaria. One of Europe's most affordable ski destinations, Bulgaria has friendly ski schools and wide, varied pistes ideal for kids, newbies, and daredevils alike.
- 5-night February half term self-catering package in Bansko for a family of four: £475pp (Tues 17th - Sun 22nd Feb 2026) staying at Balkan Jewel Resort & Chalets. Includes return London - Sofia flights and airport transfers.
Les Arcs has seen a huge increase in bookings for February 2026 - up by 500%. As has fellow French resort Flaine, up 117% on last year. Both are family-friendly resorts with a huge choice of ski-in/ski-out hotels - perfect for families who want easy access to the slopes:
- 6-night February half term self-catering package in Les Arcs for a family of four: £1,400pp (Sat 14th - Fri 20th Feb 2026) staying at Résidence Pierre & Vacances Premium Arc 1950 Le Village. Includes return London - Lyon flights and airport transfers.
Classic, big-name resorts are going strong - and hidden gems are booming:
Classic large French resorts are still in high demand year-on-year, including Méribel (bookings are up 30%), and Courchevel (up 33%). Both of these famous resorts are located in the legendary Three Valleys ski area and have some exciting newness for 25/26:
- Méribel’s Rhodos gondola has had a €10 million upgrade. It serves the ‘Rond Point’ and ‘Altiport’ areas - popular with beginners, families and ski schools.
- In Courchevel, events are planned throughout the 25/26 season in the run up to the resort’s 80th anniversary in December 2026. And after 55 years, the Chenus gondola is being replaced thanks to a €20 million upgrade which will double its capacity from December 2025.
- Heidi has added Courchevel’s new 5-star hotel, Maya Hôtel, to its accommodation options:
4-night March package for two people at Maya Hotel: £2,282pp (Thurs 26th - Mon 30th March). Includes return London - Geneva flights and airport transfers.
A number of smaller ‘hidden gem’ resorts are seeing notably high demand for 25/26 - particularly Serre Chevalier and Montgènevre.
Marcus Blunt, co-founder of Heidi, comments: "Heidi’s choice of European resorts is second to none. From all of the classics to brilliant under-the-radar gems, it’s never been easier to discover new ski destinations. One of our top tips for cutting your ski holiday costs is staying in a smaller or lesser-known ski resort connected to a big ski area. Same great skiing, cheaper prices.”
Serre Chevalier: Year-to-date bookings are up 133% for this great-value hidden gem. It’s got old-world charm, a relaxed ambience, and 300 days of sunshine a year (hello, bluebird ski days).
As the resort gears up for the 2030 Olympics, brand new accommodation is coming - including the gorgeous Résidence Club MMV - Le Serra Neva. Opening in December 2025, this 170-apartment residence offers spacious, stylish accommodation, an outdoor heated pool, sauna and steam room:
- 5-night self-catering January package in Serre Chevalier for two people: £732pp (Sat 10th - Thurs 15th Jan 2026) staying at Résidence Club MMV - Le Serra Neva. Includes return London - Turin flights and private airport transfers.
Montegenèvre: Fancy skiing in France and Italy on the same day? Here, you can. Located on the border, Montgenèvre (aka Monty) is a charming alpine village with easy access to the vast Milky Way Circuit, which spans the Italian resorts of Sestriere, San Sicario, and Sauze D'Oulx. Bookings for this brilliant under-the-radar gem are up 213% versus last year.
- 7-night self-catering apartment package in Montegenèvre for two people: £606pp (Sat 21st - Sat 28th March 2026) staying at Résidence Club mmv Le Hameau des Airelles. Includes return London - Turin flights and airport transfers.
Austrian resorts seeing huge year-on-year growth
Year to date, Heidi has seen a 109% rise in bookings to Austria. This demand could increase further with the addition of new direct Easyjet flights this winter from Bristol to Munich, operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The route will open up easily-accessible long ski weekends in Austria from Bristol for the first time.
Heidi's top-selling Austrian resorts include Zell am See (bookings up by 240%), Saalbach (up by a huge 1,150%), St Anton (up 125%) and Bad Gastein, which is up by 43%.
Heidi was launched in 2018, formally known as Ski Zoom. Its millennial founders, Marcus and Alexander Blunt, are half-Norwegian brothers who love the mountains - and were lucky to have snow and skiing as part of their daily life growing up. Heidi was born out of their desire to change the lack of flexibility in the ski holiday market, and enable more people to easily access and enjoy the mountains
Heidi has seen exponential growth over the past few years - jumping from £8.8 million in the year to April 2022 to £58 million in the year to April 2025. It is the UK’s third largest ski holiday operator, carrying over 52,000 passengers in the 2024/2025 season - and has an average ‘Excellent’ rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot.
