Flumserberg- 2024/25 Winter Season Marked By Fantastic Weather

Bergbahnen Flumserberg AG (BBF) concluded an unforgettable winter season. Employees in all areas – cable cars, restaurants, and sports shops – were under great pressure and performed at their best to provide the approximately 600,000 guests with wonderful winter sports experiences on Flumserberg.

Fantastic weather conditions with an above-average number of sunny days characterized the 2024/25 winter season at Flumserberg. The snowfall always came at just the right time, making it possible to offer the entire, diverse range of amenities, including 65 km of ski slopes, a toboggan run, cross-country ski trails, winter hiking trails, and snowshoe trails, for almost the entire season. A roughly 15% increase in first-time visitors was recorded, welcoming approximately 600,000 guests. Off-piste, guests were also offered entertainment and variety with numerous and diverse music and sporting events.

Early and short-term start

The BBF Group's employees were also flexible at the start of the season. With extra effort, the first winter guests were welcomed to Tannenboden on Saturday, November 23, 2024, just 24 hours after the management's decision to start the season. The partial service with the Arve piste was well used by winter fans from day one. The two "peak seasons" – the Christmas/New Year holidays and the sports holidays – were sunny and therefore well attended. Above all, the new public transport service by train, which allows daily and hourly travel from Zurich to Unterterzen in 58 minutes, attracted additional guests. For the first time, PostBus offered a busy half-hourly service on weekends during peak times.

Flumserberg Galaxy – another splash of color

On Friday, December 27, 2024, the new winter sports highlight – the Flumserberg Galaxy – opened. The light art installations on the Chrüz piste transformed nighttime descents into a galactic experience. The light art in the wintry landscape also helped to slow down the pace of our guests' hectic daily lives. Over 8,500 night skiers were welcomed at the 14 nights, which also further enlivened the mountain's restaurants.

Climbing, tobogganing and biking on Ascension weekend

After this week's cleanup, the mountain's employees are taking a well-deserved holiday. Partial operation will begin on the Ascension weekend from May 29 to June 1, 2025, with the FLOOMZER toboggan run, the CLiiMBER climbing tower, and the BlueSalamander bike trail, as well as the associated cable cars. Daily operation with all cable cars and other fun-packed amenities will begin on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
