FIS Alpine Ski World Cup To Kick Off One Week Earlier Than Planned

Audi FIS Alpine World Cup opening races in Soelden (AUT) will take place one week earlier than planned, on the 17th-18th October instead of the originally planned dates of 24th-25th October. The women's giant slalom will be on Saturday 17th October and the men's giant slalom will take place on Sunday 18th October.

In Sölden the winter season already starts in the beginning of October, as soon as the stars of the Alpine Ski World Cup get together on Rettenbach Glacier high above Sölden - on the occasion of the Alpine Ski Championship Season Opener. "Ladies first" is the slogan of the Women's giant slalom held on Saturday while the Men's competition takes place on Sunday. Thrilling moments and loads of action await you!

On Covid they say "We are currently working on a safe Ski World Cup start in Sölden. We are developing a concept with the guidelines for Covid-19 prevention in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health.As soon as everything is fixed, we will announce it. We ask for a little patience for a "togetherness with a safe distance"."
