Eide Il, New Ski Resort In Norway Built In "Record Time"

The new and exciting ski resort in Eide Municipality has been built in record time and will contribute to increased skiing activity in the municipality.

Eide IL has recently experienced drop-outs in the skiing group, and as one of the measures to increase skiing activity among children and young people in Eide, wanted to create a ski playground.

It was NSF's Marianne Myklebust who came up with ideas for the design of the facility. Ski club developer in the circuit Jan Ole Fuglem and head of administration Stig Aambø were also present at the inspection.

"Not long ago we were contacted by a fellow in Eidsdal who wanted good advice on how to build a good ski resort. In addition, they had to obtain snow artificially as the facility is close to the coast. We contacted special adviser Marianne Myklebust, who has given input on how good lines and elements should be motivating and self-learning. The choice of snowmaking equipment was supported by various advisers who know the subject and not least the sharing of experiences from ski resorts in the circuit. With tips and input in place, the zealots threw themselves into the spade, and can already show startling progress. Rarely have we seen a project go from idea to action so quickly", says construction advisor at the Norwegian Ski Association, Marit Gjerland.

The ski playground is located directly above the Light Tracks to the club, and the center of Eide. In the ski playground, there is both a lavvo and a gap hut for social gatherings. Per Olav Eide has been one of the prime movers in Eide IL for many years. Both as a trainer, manager and facility developer. In the same area as the new Skielik facility, the Light Trail to Eide IL is located. Eide is also former head of the cross-country committee in the circuit.

"We have also assessed and visited a possible snow production facility in the ski resort. But this was too extensive and expensive to include in the project in the first place", says head of administration in the circle, Stig Aambø.
