Day & Season Tickets In Vorarlberg Will Be Around 4% More Expensive On Average For The 2025/26 Winter Season.

Ski pass prices for the coming season have now been set almost everywhere: Day and season tickets in Vorarlberg will be around four percent more expensive on average for the 2025/26 winter season. In addition to traditional fixed prices, some ski areas will continue to rely on a dynamic pricing model. Ticket revenue not only finances ongoing operations but also enables investments that ensure quality and future security.
On October 1, 2025, Vorarlberg's ski resorts will begin pre-selling season tickets. "We're already looking forward to winter and are in the middle of preparations," says Andreas Gapp, head of the Vorarlberg cable car association. At the same time, ticket prices for the coming season have now been set for most ski resorts. Initial analyses show an average increase of around four percent for day and season tickets compared to the previous year. "We are currently experiencing rising costs across all cost categories. This is also reflected in inflation, which averaged around three percent for the year but has now risen significantly in August. This unpredictability is also affecting ticket pricing," explains Gapp. At the same time, he emphasizes: "Our cable cars are among the world market leaders in terms of quality and safety. However, when compared to other areas in the Alpine region, we are in the middle range."
In Vorarlberg, winter sports enthusiasts have a choice of 32 different ski areas in a relatively small area. The diverse offering includes both smaller ski areas, which are particularly suitable for children or beginners, and larger ski areas for more experienced winter sports enthusiasts. "With this variety of offerings comes a variety of prices. This year, for example, tickets are available again starting at just 24 euros," explains Gapp. Since the 2022/23 season, some ski areas have also been using dynamic pricing. This means that the ticket price adapts to factors such as the time of booking or occupancy. "For guests, this means that skiing can be cheaper on certain days, for example when demand is lower or during the week," Gapp continues.
"The future security of the ski resorts is a top priority for Vorarlberg's cable cars. To offer guests the best conditions and be able to compete internationally, the cable cars are constantly investing. A total of around €122 million was invested in the local ski resorts this year, almost half of which, around €58 million, went into snow reliability and slope optimization. "The ticket prices not only secure ongoing operations. They also enable us to continuously invest in quality and snow reliability – thus securing the long-term future of Vorarlberg's ski resorts," Gapp concludes.
