  • French Mountaineering Championship - Saturday, January 18
This individual alpine skiing event, a flagship race in the sport, takes place in the heart of the exceptional scenery on the slopes of La Saulire, the highest ski summit in Courchevel. Physical strength is required on the way up as well as on the way down when you ski here!
  • Plum Moontain Races, February 10 and March 9
Join a ski mountaineering trek to the lofty Loze Pass by the light of a full moon. After indulging in a delicious meal at the high-altitude restaurant Le 1928, descend the mountain by torchlight. It’s certainly a high-octane moment, but it’s open to all and it really is an unforgettable experience.

From the Belvédère de Courchevel Moriond, there are many opportunities for nature lovers to enjoy the tranquil and magnificent landscapes. Choose from:
  • A circuit of Rosière Lake on foot or with snowshoes allows you to explore this wonderfully wild location. In the heart of a forest, the shores of the lake are dominated by the majestic Dent du Villard. Treat yourself with a gourmet break at the chalet-style snack bar by the lake - it’s like a fairytale setting come to life…
  • Cross-country skiers can enjoy a (free) route alternating between woodland and sunny pastures, while those on foot can follow a beautiful walking trail through the forest and alongside the marvellous chalets of the Belvédère.
  • Fans of ski-touring aren’t left out: the marked, natural route ‘La Trace’ takes you to the top of the Signal for majestic views over the Vallée des Avals which will take your breath-away…
 
A taste of the far north for mini-mushers
This year sees the introduction of a thrilling adventure for children (valid for 7-15 year olds) as they follow in the tracks of Jack London (author of Call of the Wild): Courchevel Adventure offers the chance to become an apprentice musher. After first being shown how to handle the sleds and introduced to the dogs, they will be able to take the reins themselves for their exciting ride.
Ice diving fun
New this winter, ice diving arrives at Lake Praz. Get ready for an invigorating immersion where you can admire a ballet of air bubbles and relish a purely zen moment. A memorable experience.
 
Off-piste for all
To suit first timers on the snow or those who want to improve their techniques, Courchevel 1850’s ESF (École du Ski Français) has launched ESF Mountain Academy, an off-piste ski school offering several courses including security training courses. They also offer several tours including the most beautiful and secret descents of the 3 Valleys, sunset excursions and discovery trips to the wild Vallée des Avals...

The head chef at the hotel's two restaurants, the Japanese Koori and the traditional Le Comptoir de L'Apogée, is also an accomplished sportsman. Jean-Luc is a seasoned hiker, and passionate about ski touring. From time to time he invites guests to accompany him on the slopes and share a gourmet picnic in his favourite secret locations - an expert who knows how to pair the pleasures of great food with sport.

Passionate about mountains and mountaineering, Sara loves to be surrounded by nature and discover the natural wonders of the area. “These noble mountains are so special - pure and unspoiled. Just by being close to the mountains, you can easily forget about the pressures of daily life and benefit from the natural energy.” She considers herself a link in a chain between her clients and the mountains and says that it’s really easy to discover places of untamed beauty in the 3 valleys such as the Vallée des Avals, Geffriand and the imposing glacier of Gébroulaz…

Lorélei opened her new sophrology practice in a traditional mazot in the heart of the forest close to a small pond, in lovely Le Praz. Surrounded by nature, this unusual and cosy miniature wooden chalet is serene and tranquil – perfect for enjoying sophrology and yoga sessions all year round.
