Carezza, The Climate-Forward Resort Highlights Sustainable Skiing In The Dolomites

This winter, the most exciting trips aren’t found in the crowded lift queues of Europe’s biggest resorts, they’re in the quiet corners of the Alps and the far reaches of the Arctic, where travellers are rediscovering what snow holidays can be.
Sustainable Skiing in the Dolomites
Carezza, the climate-forward resort with cinematic landscapes and Italian charm
The Carezza Dolomites ski area opens its 2025 winter season on 6 December, unveiling new lift developments, refreshed hotel concepts and a winter programme that goes far beyond skiing.
Framed by the Rosengarten and Latemar peaks, Carezza offers 40km of varied pistes (55% blue, 30% red, 15% black), 13 modern lifts, and snow reliability supported by 200 energy-efficient snow cannons, the resort appeals to all ability levels. Part of the “Turn to Zero” commitment since 2019, Carezza measures its carbon footprint annually and optimises energy - saving measures wherever possible. The resort has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 60-90% in its slope grooming vehicles, and has reduced piste grooming by an hour each day. The Carezza reservoir basin also provides much of the resort’s water for snowmaking, making it one of the largest and most environmentally-friendly in South Tyrol.
Beyond the pistes, Carezza offers tobogganing, a snowpark, 7km of cross-country trails, winter walking, snowshoeing and ski safaris. For wider exploration, the Dolomiti Superski pass unlocks 1,200km of pistes across the region.
Where to Stay?
Moseralm Dolomiti Hideaway for ski-in, ski-out ease
- A newly built cable car behind the hotel provides guests with an easier and more comfortable way onto Carezza’s slopes. Each room has its own dedicated ski locker with boot warmers in the new ski storage room and the newly built modern-alpine suites and renovated rooms in the main house combine natural charm with contemporary comfort. Guests can also join guided snowshoe and winter hikes, guided ski days, and even sunset hikes. The Alm Spa offers an adults-only sanctuary with panoramic saunas, an Enrosadira Sky Pool, and quiet zones with sweeping Dolomite views, alongside a dedicated Family Spa for younger guests.
Cyprianerhof Dolomit Resort for luxurious wellness
- Located just 50 metres from the new Cabrio cable car, Cyprianerhof now offers direct access to the Carezza ski slopes. Guests can explore pristine routes without needing to cross busy pistes, while the hotel’s in-house mountain guide leads ski touring and ice climbing expeditions for those seeking more adventure. After an active day, the Simile Spa provides the perfect retreat: guests can relax in glass, clay and pine saunas overlooking the Dolomitic spires, join infusion rituals, unwind in steam baths and on infrared loungers or melt into signature treatments rooted in regional healing traditions.
Once you stand in the midst of the ski resort, you sense how big it really is: 40 kilometres of pistes, from – literally – child’s play to hard and challenging. Some are located down at the bottom of the area, others halfway up or right at the top – some are blue, some red, some black. Easy, simple and exciting for every beginner, all the way up to wild and wavy – an impressive test even for experienced skiers! The 12 modern lifts make you want to come back for more: they bring you comfortably and quickly up to the top, where the fun can begin all over again! And, as sustainability is an important issue for us, Carezza is in the truest sense an outstanding climate-friendly ski resort. Here you can have fun on the pistes with a clear conscience – Carezza is after all a family ski resort!
