Bolle Supports AG2R La Mondiale At Upcoming Tour De’ France With Its Latest Chronoshield Sunglasses

Bollé has a long history of involvement with the highest levels of cycling. The first sports glasses ever created by the brand, Nylon Grand Sport, were a cycling model introduced in 1958 to equip famous cyclists such as Louison Bobet during the Tour de France. The brand continues this commitment this year and will support the riders of AG2R LA MONDIALE with its latest performance model, the CHRONOSHIELD, inspired by the brand’s iconic 80’s model of the same name. This year, AG2R LA MONDIALE supporters will be able to test their champions’ gear directly from their couch thanks to Bollé’s Try On filter, accessible from anyone’s smartphone.

The latest addition to Bollé’s Performance eyewear range, CHRONOSHIELD benefits from the combination of the best of Bollé’s technologies and meets all the needs of the performance cyclist.

CHRONOSHIELD benefits from all Bollé’s frame technology expertise. Lightweight and durable, the sunglasses have adjustable temples and nose pad with Thermogrip rubber inserts which give a tailored fit and the ultimate solution in comfort. As a tribute to the original design, the sunglasses feature a removable brow bar with foam providing a custom fit and comfort, as well as a bold and retro style.

While AG2R La Mondiale riders have already been training with this new model, the current sanitary situation might prevent some supporters from trying on their champions’ gear. In this ‘new normal’ for retail, Bollé recognizes that safety is now the key focus and this has led the company to develop a unique Augmented Reality filter allowing people to try on the sunglasses without ever having to physically touch the glasses. Using Instagram, the demonstration invites users to try on CHRONOSHIELD sunglasses, allowing any AG2R LA MONDIALE fan to test the look of his favorite rider.

After virtually positioning the glasses on their face, the users can flip their camera from selfie-view to front-facing and Phantom lenses are superimposed on their actual view. Users then introduce sunglass effects like high contrast, anti-fog, and photochromic into their real surroundings to see Phantom lenses in action.

The AR filter is currently accessible through Bollé’s website or Instagram page.

The sunglasses are available with Phantom photochromic lenses, the latest and most advanced lens technology of the brand. Made of NXT offering a mix of exceptional optical clarity and impact resistance, Phantom lenses lighten and darken quickly, adapting automatically to the light conditions and providing the best vision at all times. In addition, the lens features hydrophobic treatment (so that water droplets roll off) and oleophobic treatment (to repel dirt), keeping the cyclist’s vision clear.

Fitted for medium to large faces, CHRONOSHIELD is available in four colors, including two Phantom lens options.
