Blue Tomato Launches Its International Rental Service

International boardsports and lifestyle specialist Blue Tomato also offers selected products for rent. With the new "Blue Tomato Rent Your Ride" programme established last year, customers can rent high-quality snowboards, splitboards, boots and bindings. This year, there are now several shops in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands where customers can get professional advice and rent the latest products on the market directly on site. But it is also possible to order online. The individually assembled setup can then be collected from any shop or sent to the customer's home.

All information on the rental system is available at www.blue-tomato.com/rent-your-ride.

With more than 400,000 products and over 600 employees, Blue Tomato is one of the world's largest online retailers in the fields of snowboarding, freeskiing, surfing, skateboarding and street style. Jürgen Kranabitl, Director of Business and Process Development, explains the decision for Blue Tomato's new service: "We see a high demand from our customers for 'renting instead of buying' snowboards, and thus also the corresponding market potential. In classic ski rentals, the snowboard sector is often neglected - especially when customers want to rent snowboards in top condition with an expert advice. With Rent Your Ride, we want to offer our customers the opportunity to rent the latest snowboards. With us, they get individual first-hand consulting and the best snowboard for their holidays."

Fast progresses in snowboard development impede the purchase decision

In addition, there have been great leaps in development in the snowboard industry in recent years, which are still difficult to grasp for many customers. "These include the numerous different snowboard shapes for carving on the piste, playful floating in powder, freestyle in the park and on the piste or splitboarding outside the serviced resorts", says Kranabitl. "The option of renting and extensively testing high-quality boards, bindings, avalanche equipment and more before deciding to buy can be very helpful in finding the perfect setup for your own needs."

Currently 14 "Rent Your Ride" shops

The new "Rent Your Ride" offer includes a large selection of boards for women, men and children as well as the associated equipment. Currently, 14 shops in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are already stocked with the corresponding range. Snowboards, splitboards, bindings, boots, poles and skins can be selected and rented here. Qualified shop staff with a lot of experience and know-how are available for detailed advice. Those who prefer to browse online can assemble their setup at
www.blue-tomato.com/rent-your-ride and then pick it up at any shop in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands or have it sent to their home. Returns can also be made in the shop or by return shipment.

Test & Buy: Get a voucher for your purchase

Blue Tomato is the retailer with the most new products. The selection of the latest high-quality boards from the hottest brands for all riding levels from beginner to expert and for all areas of use - whether piste, pow or park - is huge. Customers can even change the rented setup if it doesn't meet their expectations. And if you like the rented setup so much that you don't want to give it back, you will receive a 35 Euros voucher for the purchase of your new snowboard within the "Test & Buy" offer.

Blue Tomato "Service Your Ride"

If you already have your own setup at home, you can still benefit from the know-how of the Blue Tomato team. Blue Tomato "Service Your Ride" offers state-of-the-art wax, edge and base service. The focus here is explicitly on a manual service, as this is the only way to achieve the best results, which is not possible with automatic machines. In contrast to its competitors, Blue Tomato specialises in servicing both snowboards and freeskis. The setup can be handed in at shops in Germany, Austria or the Netherlands. As soon as the service is completed, you receive a notification and your equipment is ready for action.
