Arosa Lenzerheide Extending Collaboration With Dynamic Pricing Expert Catalate By Three Years

The Swiss ski resort of Arosa Lenzerheide has been maximizing its online sales since 2017 with Catalate's dynamic pricing and e-commerce platform

Arosa Lenzerheide (Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG and Arosa Bergbahnen AG), Graubünden's largest contiguous ski area, has decided to sign a new three-year contract with Catalate. Since the beginning of the partnership, the mountain railways have significantly increased their online sales.

In 2017, Arosa Lenzerheide had the following goals: to increase online sales and provide incentives for the advance sale of ski tickets. Dynamic pricing and the e-commerce solution Cloud Store from Catalate should help here. In the first joint season, online sales increased significantly and the online share of total sales reached 25% (products: 1- to 14-day tickets, 4-hour and afternoon tickets). In the same range, the online share continued to grow steadily. In the 2020/21 season, 73% of tickets were already sold online.

Arosa Lenzerheide offers most of its tickets online, from ski and beginner and snow park tickets to night tobogganing. You can also find hiking tickets and maps for the Arosa Bear Sanctuary in the shop. Every summer, the ski area starts selling dynamically priced tickets for the coming winter. This generates early bookings and reduces the impact of factors affecting demand during the season.

Philipp Holenstein, CEO of Arosa Bergbahnen, said in 2017: "We chose to partner with Catalate because the company has a proven track record of increasing advance sales for ticketing companies. Catalate was the first to develop dynamic pricing strategies for ski resorts, which today are served by more than Hundred mountain railway companies are used." And just recently, Holenstein stated that "over the past six seasons, Catalate has proven to be a reliable partner that really understands dynamic pricing in the ski market."

Long-standing Catalate partners such as Chamonix and Arosa Lenzerheide continue to be pleased with increasing advance booking figures, well-known ski areas such as the Pitztal Glacier and the Kaunertal Glacier with excellent results in their first season with Catalate.
