Antelope Butte Gives Tentative Open Date As Friday, December 18th

Antelope butte has given a tentative open date as Friday, December 18th. They say:

We so excited about all of the snow we've been getting and we want to give you the most current update on Antelope Butte and what this winter is going to look like on the mountain!

Let's start with the lodge. We have made major headway in the lodge and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We had some delays due to State permits and requirements for occupancy. We have however gotten all of these permits and a clear written document of what the State is requiring for public occupancy. Based on these requirements along with the potential restrictions to indoor operations and material delays due to COVID, we have chosen to not push for operations in the lodge this season. Instead, we are looking to improve upon operations utilizing our existing facilities, while also focusing on completing the final phase of fundraising for this campaign.

As we look to the 2020/2021 winter season, we are anticipating a great season! We plan on utilizing the Yurt along with our large event tent for public shelter. We will be moving our ticket sales to a kiosk that will eliminate the congestion seen in previous seasons in our rental shop. This will also allow us to better protect our guests and staff against potential COVID transmission.

We are building a temporary enclosure around the portable restrooms that will allow us to keep them modestly heated and allow for handwashing stations that will not freeze. This will be an improvement from previous seasons while we wait for completion of the lodge. We are working on streamlining our rental process along with introducing a new punch pass that will allow users to spend less time in line and more time on the slopes!

The tentative open date is Friday, December 18th! We will be open for winter break Friday December 18th - Monday January 4th. After that, we will have the lifts running Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays till the beginning of April. That's right, we will be open Mondays this season!

Next Friday, (November 6th) we are having our Pre-Season Ski Party at Welcome Market Hall in Sheridan 5-9pm! We are so excited to have the Dugan Irby Band playing. There will also be food & drink specials, a photo booth, and you can pick up your season pass. Face coverings are encouraged when social distancing is not possible. We hope to see you there!

$25,000 First Chair Youth Program Match Opportunity

The Homer & Janet Scott Family Foundation has generously offered to match donations up to $25,000 to go towards the First Chair Youth Program Fund at Antelope Butte. With the support of our generous community, we aim to raise $25,000 by November 6th.

The First Chair Youth Program Fund is an annual giving opportunity that will directly benefit our youth programs and operations at the Antelope Butte Foundation. Funds will be utilized to help reduce the costs for program participants and provide scholarships for program participants in need.

We've already received $3,000 in donations and a $10,000 pledge towards the $25,000 match! We're over halfway there. Donate online now and help us reach our goal!
