FIS Ski World Cup: 19th & 20th December 2025
For a few days a year, the slopes of Val Gardena attract the ‘creme de la crème’ of skiing as they battle for a place on the podium of the FIS World Cup, racing the ‘Saslong Slope’.
The history of the World Cup in Dolomites Val Gardena goes back to the 1970s. The Saslong slope is one of the most beautiful and well-known stages of the world cup, with its famous and feared ‘camel hump’ and speeds of up to 100 km an hour and is now an annual feature on the Men’s World Cup circuit. Previous winners include Peter Müller, Rob Boyd, Michael Walchhofer and Kristian Ghedina. After more than 40 years, in 2023, Dominik Paris was a winner from South Tyrol, the first local to win since 1977. Guests can share the incredible atmosphere from the slope-sides and valley base.
Also NEW for 25.26
Improvement to Ciampinoi Nr3
Ahead of the World Championships in 2031, the final section of the piste ‘Ciampinoi Nr 3’ has been improved; it now continues straight ahead towards the Ciampinoi valley station in a westerly direction. The new section of the slope is wider and perfectly suited as a competition course for the 2031 World Championships.

Val Gardena focuses on environmentally friendly mobility with the introduction of ten Mercedes Citaro Hybrid buses. All guests staying at a venue which is a member of the Val Gardena Tourism Bureau can use all buses for free upon presenting the digital Val Gardena Guest Pass.
