Anna Swenn Larsson & Reigning Champion Sara Hector Ready For 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics,

The Swedish Olympic Committee has selected the basis for the Swedish Olympic squad. 25 athletes and twelve teams were given the go-ahead on Wednesday to compete in Milano Cortina 2026, and alpine stars Anna Swenn Larsson and Sara Hector are included in the first squad selection.

Almost 100 athletes have been training together at the Olympic Camp in Crete in recent days, where SOK is building the Swedish squad. In addition to having access to SOK's resource people, practical information is also being collected ahead of the games and the first Swedish athletes will be selected to compete in the Olympics next year. The competitions begin on February 4, the games are opened on February 6 and end on February 22.

In alpine skiing, experienced duo Sara Hector (giant slalom) and Anna Swenn Larsson (slalom) will be selected for the competitions that will be decided on the slopes in Cortina. Sara is the reigning Olympic champion in giant slalom and Anna has been World Cup runner-up in slalom, so both have good chances to medal.

"Great fun, I feel super motivated and look forward to doing my best Olympics! The early selection creates peace and security", says Anna Swenn Larsson.

She is supported by Sara Hector: "Great and fun, this creates security and enthusiasm. I'm already looking forward to February and the Olympics. It's fun, right and good that these leading girls are being selected already now. Of course, it creates peace of mind and the conditions to focus on the right things, comments acting national team manager Per Jonsson on the early selection.

"This was our first selection. We hope that the squad will contain approximately 130 athletes by February next year", says SOK's sports director and squad manager Fredrik Joulamo and continues "Our goal for the Olympic squad is to have the capacity to win 20 medals. We had our best winter games so far last time in Beijing with 18 medals and the squad for Milano Cortina next year looks to have a similar level"
