Alta Badia Ready For Delicious Festival Dolomiti

Sport, taste, nature, history and passion. These are the ingredients of the Delicious Festival Dolomiti, the trail-running event scheduled in Cortina d'Ampezzo and Alta Badia over the weekend of September 23 and 24, co-organised by L5TSPORT ASD Delicious Cortina and the Cortina d'Ampezzo municipality, and under the patronage of the Regole d'Ampezzo, the Ampezzo Dolomites Natural Park, the Cortina section of the CAI, the Alta Badia Tourism Cooperative and Alta Badia Brand.

A very special sixth edition that presents an absolute novelty: the Medium Delicious Trail of about 30 km and 1900 metres of positive altitude difference, starting from Alta Badia, in the parterre of the Gran Risa slope, famous for hosting the Alpine Ski World Cup races, and finishing in Pocol/Cortina. A new event for all trail-running enthusiasts, which will be held alongside the other two races that have always been present, and which will take place over an intermediate distance, and will offer further beauty to participants thanks to the unique landscapes at the foot of the majestic Dolomites, the rich forests, and its gastronomic excellence.

The route, which will start in Alta badia, will head towards San Cassiano to climb the plateau. At the top, it will deviate to the Pralongià area, with a descent to Armentarola. From here a long climb towards Lagazuoi, from where the finish line will be reached at Pocol. Refreshments will be set up at the Las Vegas, Bioch, Pralongià and Scotoni mountain huts.
For those looking for the classic distance, there is the Delicious Trail Dolomites of 43 km for 3100 metres of positive altitude difference, which winds its way through Pocol, Croda Da Lago, Cinque Torri, Nuvolau, Lagazuoi and Passo Falzarego, with the crossing of the largest open-air museum of the Great War fought at high altitude in the Dolomites, and with the passage through the Lagazuoi mine tunnel (altitude 2647 metres). An evocative and beautiful route, at times very technical, which requires preparation and a thorough knowledge of the mountains. The start will be in the heart of Cortina d'Ampezzo.

For all mountain lovers there is the Short Trail of 22 km for 1300 metres of altitude difference, which will bring the participants to the top of the Nuvolau. A race that can be interpreted as one prefers: running or walking, stopping from mountain hut to mountain hut to taste the specialities prepared by the chefs. The start and finish will be in Pocol/Cortina d'Ampezzo

All three routes will see the mountain huts and restaurants involved in the event offer all competitors, in addition to traditional sports products such as water and mineral salts, some specialities from Ampezzo and Alta Badia, such as: Kaiserschmarren, a kind of sweet omelette sprinkled with icing sugar and served with jam, cranberry tart, casunziei, and many other traditional dishes.

Delicious Trail Dolomiti and Alta Badia will be joined by Karpos, the event's historical sponsor and official partner of the Alta Badia resort. Three realities of excellence for an increasingly strong and successful synergy on all fronts.
