LEITNER Is Redefining The Standard For Monocable Ropeways With Ropera,

ROPERA, the latest innovation from the South Tyrolean ropeway manufacturer LEITNER, ensures maximum performance and sustainability for all components of the monocable ropeway, while offering impressive individual flexibility, low noise levels, worker safety, and ease of maintenance. A new era of efficient and environmentally friendly mobility is here – and all this along with optimized life-cycle costs.

Martin Leitner, member of the board of LEITNER S.p.A., summarises the new ROPERA standard as follows: “Our relentless pursuit of progress and innovation has culminated in a unified, strong expression that redefines the entire ropeway system, while focusing specifically on requirements that are particularly relevant for the present day: sustainability and efficiency. The know-how of LEITNER, Poma, and Bartholet has been incorporated into the development of ROPERA, enabling us to offer customers the best of all three worlds.” Martin Leitner also emphasises that “ROPERA® is the perfect symbiosis of tried-and-tested components such as the LEITNER DirectDrive, the gearless drive technology, and new developments that help us offer customers a product optimized for cost-effectiveness and resource conservation.”

In addition to the technical and visual optimization of classic components, such as the rope guide, the grip, and the premium station design by Pininfarina, digitization with LeitPilot for ropeways and chairlifts and the Skadii resort management system are also crucial elements of ROPERA®.

Powerful and quiet: new standards for the ropeway industry

With ROPERA, optimizing the sources of noise throughout the entire system means:

• sound-insulating (decoupling) elements near the horizontal and vertical rope deflection
• fewer rollers for horizontal rope deflection in the return station
• larger sheave for less vibration and smoother running
• tensioning carriage mounted with acoustic decoupling

Prioritising occupational safety and ease of maintenance

The ongoing dialogue with  customers and a goal of making daily work with and on LEITNER systems as convenient, efficient, and safe as possible have led to the following innovations:

• folding platforms
• working platforms on two levels
• spacious working platform in the front station area
• transparent plastic covers for the tyre conveyors
• maximum accessibility of all components in the station
• innovative hatch system so spare parts can be brought into the station quickly and easily
• optimized maintenance intervals

The ROPERA technology is rounded off by the efficient & sustainable construction, which enables a lifetime of over 40 years and is up to 95% recyclable. As a result, ROPERA® significantly optimizes the life cycle costs of monocable ropeways.

The ROPERA effect: maximum flexibility thanks to modular design

The modular design guarantees fast project execution, ensuring that the systems can be manufactured and installed within a few weeks. LEITNER thus guarantees maximum speed and flexibility for customers.

The first ROPERA project, the 6-seater chairlift “Glück” in the Speikboden skiing area in South Tyrol, embodies the new ropeway standard.

Franz Wieser, President of the Speikboden ropeway, is delighted with the debut: “The perfect integration of all individual parts enables us to make optimum use of the latest technology. LEITNER was therefore the logical choice for us when it came to building the new chairlift. The resulting positive effects represent unprecedented added value for everyone - both for us as a company and for our customers. We are delighted to be the first customer worldwide to implement the new ROPERA standard.”
