10th Anniversary Of BVB Evonik Football Academy For Kitzbuheler Alpen-Brixental,

The BVB Evonik football academy in Westendorf celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. The BVB summer tour kicked off the football academy on August 6th and 7th. At the music pavilion in Westendorf, the colorful station with a variety of activities was very well attended.

Enthusiastic participants in the football holiday course

On Monday, August 8th, the starting signal was given for the football academy, which this year welcomed 88 participants from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and even the USA. 42 of the participants were so-called “returners”, i.e. they took part in the academy again – one of them even took part in all ten editions!

The young footballers enjoyed a professional training program with new training modules from Monday to Friday and were able to train their football skills, compete with each other and have fun with like-minded people. Training took place on both Westendorf football pitches with six coaches and BVB legend Jörg Heinrich, who himself coached a group. At lunchtime they were fed by the creative chef Peter Laiminger from Westendorf.

Youngsters meet BVB women

As a special highlight, the BVB women's team, who were also at the training camp in Brixental at the same time, spontaneously helped organize training on Friday morning. The BVB women trained in Brixental from August 10th to 14th and played against TSV 1860 Munich at the weekend. The women of SV Westendorf were also able to compete with the Borussia women on the green lawn on Saturday.

Great supporting program away from the lawn

On Friday afternoon, at the end of the football academy, the final tournament for young players took place, followed by the distribution of certificates and medals. 10 fan packs and 5 x 2 tickets for a Borussia Dortmund home game were raffled off. The brilliant conclusion was the anniversary evening together with the trainers at the Brechhornhaus. The BVB logo was put on the slope with torches and lit at nightfall.
The people accompanying the football kids were able to enjoy their vacation days with a varied supporting program with an alpaca hike, a visit to the Bergdoktor film location "Gruberhof" or a visit to the Erber schnapps distillery. The star tour was particularly impressive, during which the celestial bodies could be observed up close with three professional telescopes.

Enthusiastic participants, successful organization and fantastic weather ensured a successful football academy, which will be repeated next year from July 31st to August 4th for the 11th time.
