Woman Wears Ski Suit In Central London

London commuters were treated to an unusual scene this morning, as skier, Chemmy Alcott, was seen traversing the walkways of Waterloo Underground Station and the heights IFS Cloud Cable car, kitted-up in skis and full winter sports gear. It's propbably one of the less baffling scenes to greet commuters.

The scenes marked the celebration of the inaugural London Snow Show, part of National Snow Week - one of the biggest snow sports events in the UK, taking place at the ExCeL on 21-22 October.

British Champion skier, Chemmy Alcott said  “I am thrilled to be appearing at National Snow Week’s inaugural London Snow Show this year. The Snow Show has grown over the years and is now bigger and better than ever before and will be in the Capital for the first time. The slopes are more accessible than ever and this is the perfect place for both beginners and those already comfortable with snow sports."

The London Snow Show is coming to the ExCeL this year, featuring expert advice from the biggest and brightest stars in the UK snow sports scene, as well as the opportunity for a community of enthusiasts to shop the latest cutting-edge kit, or book their next winter holiday.

Visitors will be able to brush shoulders with some of the most famous faces in the UK snowsports scene, getting the latest tips and advice
from leading experts, top celebrities, athletes and Olympians, including

Top snowsports equipment and technique workshops

Ticketholders will be able to browse the wares of hundreds of carefully curated snow brands, getting the opportunity to upgrade their gear with some of the hottest kit on the market. Those visiting the brand village will be able to speak with representatives from the top winter brands, providing ski advice, boot fitting, helmets, goggles, clothing and more.

  • Warren Smith Ski Academy – refine your skills with a skiing MOT, using biomechanical screens to analyse your movement. Expert coaches will download the necessary information to develop your ski technique and address any problem areas before you hit the slopes.
  • Family Zone by Esprit - giving families the opportunity to enjoy the day together with fun hoverboard activities and arts and crafts.
  • Maxx Tracks indoor slope by Crystal Ski Holidays - giving skiers and snowboarders of all abilities the chance to have-a-go and test their skills under the watchful eye of those in-the-know.
