Wolfgang Egger Takes Over The Chairmanship Of SEM Group

Georg Bliem, Managing Director of Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH, will pass on the chairmanship of the SEM (cable car experience exchange group). As the new SEM President, Wolfgang Egger, CEO of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG, will succeed you for the coming period. For the honorary function of the President, the members of the cable car experience exchange group take turns.

The SEM Group was founded in 1982 by leading Austrian cable car companies. The members are Arlberger Bergbahnen AG, Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG, Ischgl Silvrettabahn AG, Snow Space Salzburg Bergbahnen AG, Schmittenhöhebahn Zell am See and Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen GmbH. The group meets several times a year to exchange experiences. Topics such as everyday business, marketing, technology, security and sustainability are on the agenda.

During the last SEM meeting in Schladming, Georg Bliem handed over the scepter to Wolfgang Egger. "It was a very varied year, one of the highlights was definitely the study trip to the leading Chinese ski regions in the province of Hebei," said Planai managing director Georg Bliem when he handed over the chair. Topics of the current meeting were above all the experiences and strategies for Corona as well as above all technical and legal topics of the Austrian cable car industry.

“The time of lone warfare is over. There are interesting personalities in the Erfa group SEM, all with different skills. Everyone has their strengths, everyone benefits from the other members. It is important to take a look over the garden fence: it is often about questions about the future - to have a future, ”says Wolfgang Egger from Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG.

The evening ended with a joint evening in the Posthotel Schladming with the newly elected Mayor of Schladming, Hermann Trinker, and the chairman of the Schladming Gottlieb Stocker tourism association.
