Vorarlberg Promises WInter Season With Clear, Uniform Rules
"This year there will be a winter season," emphasized Tourism Councilor Christian Gantner. The winter code for the coming season was worked out over the summer together with the destinations and tourist interest groups and presented to over 30 representatives of the tourism industry at the winter summit in the Landhaus. The strategy is clear, according to Provincial Councilor Gantner: "Nationwide uniform coordination, orientation on the guest's path and consistent implementation and control of the measures."

The state of Vorarlberg and the tourism decision-makers agreed at an early stage on rules and supporting measures to ensure a safe winter season, according to the regional council. The basis for this is the Vorarlberg Winter Code, with which the state of Vorarlberg was the first and only winter tourism destination in Austria to develop a comprehensive, nationwide COVID-19 package of measures for guests, employees and businesses last year. The Winter Code regulations are based on the federal legal requirements (3-step plan and winter rules) as well as a voluntary commitment by the industry. The rules apply to all tourist businesses, i.e. all categories of accommodation and camping operators, restaurants, cable car companies, ski schools and tourism organizations.

The state of Vorarlberg, Vorarlberg Tourismus, Destinations and the Chamber of Commerce are also investing in measures that support this security concept and make it visible on site in the destinations. Among other things, the costs for a nationwide digital guest registration tool for the establishments are also covered.
