Volkl Looks To All Mountain Future With Peregrine 82 & 80

For the 2024/25 winter season, Völkl introduces its new product line, led by the Peregrine 82 and Peregrine 80 models. These technologically advanced skis replace the Deacon 84 and Deacon 80 and redefine skiing in the all-mountain category by offering an unrivaled experience that combines maximum precision, versatility and feel.  The Peregrine 82 and Peregrine 80 are available now at Völkl.com and select Völkl retailers  worldwide

Skiers increasingly face a dynamic and unpredictable snow landscape due to the rapid changes in climate: from hard, icy slopes one day to soft snow and slushy conditions the next. Völkl took these factors into account while developing the Peregrine range. Thanks to innovative technologies, they provide stable and durable performance without compromising the ease and fun of skiing for an incredible skiing experience over a wide range of snow conditions.

Völkl has linked the Peregrine to its legendary Racetiger by also naming it after a wild animal. These skis embody the attributes of its namesake and its love of freedom, overcoming boundaries and effortlessly gliding over different terrain. With this name choice, Völkl has not only connected the Peregrine with the Racetiger, but has also intentionaly positioned the ski between racing and all-mountain skiing.

With the Peregrine 82, Völkl has developed a model that at 82 mm underfoot meets skiers ever changing needs without neglecting the fun of skiing. The model is characterised by innovative technologies that make the ski more stable and more resistant to disruptions while making skiing more effortless and easier to turn.

Among the highlights in the skis construction is the integration of Völkl’s exclusive Tailored technologies. The Tailored Titanal Frame precisely positions the Titanal frame over the edge of the ski with the width of the frame adjusted to each individual ski length, which not only reduces weight, but also ensures agility with reduced effort. The result is a ski that is easy to control and responds positively to changing conditions. The Tailored Carbon Tips enable precise control in various skiing conditions. The orientation and thickness of the fibre in the tips paired with the angle of their arrangement allows the ski to build energy with minimal force. The combination of these technologies make it easier to control the ski and initiate precise turns.

The tighter 3D radius of the sidecut also contributes to a more agile ski. By reducing the waist width to 82 mm (the previous Deacon 84 model had a 84 mm waist), the product developers at Völkl have responded to skiers' growing need for flexible cornering ability. The Peregrine 82 is not only focussed on performance, but also offers increased feel. Equipped with the renowned Lowride Integrated Binding System, it offers a wide and lowered binding that reduces the effort required to get into the binding and enables improved agility in tight turns. Additionally, direct connection to the wood core ensures improved power transmission to the ski. The result is a ski that skiers can realize the full potential of in every skiing situation for an uncomplicated, enjoyable skiing experience.

The resource-efficient use of materials, like the use of Tailored Titanal Frame and the Tailored Carbon Tips, is an example of Völkl's commitment to sustainability. In addition, Völkl’s facility in Straubing uses 100 percent renewable electricity supplied by the local Danube hydropower plant in Kagers. And starting January 1, 2024, the company began using CO2-compensated gas to further reduce its climate-impacting emissions and achieve its goal of climate neutrality.

Easily accessible skiing fun with the Peregrine 80

The new Peregrine 80 is characterised by its easy accessibility that will appeal to a broad target group. This model is fun to ski in all snow conditions and is ideal for skiers looking for a balanced skiing experience. Inspired by its predecessor, the Deacon 80, the Peregrine 80 also has a Titanal band, which runs along the center of the ski from tip to tail which maintains overall stiffness while minimizing weight. The Titanal ensures a reliable and stable ride quality that allows skiers to enjoy a balanced mix of smoothness and liveliness. The use of Tailored Carbon Tips, also used on the Peregrine 82, ensures agility with less effort.

Thanks to the Lowride Integrated Binding System, which is optionally available with the TCX heel, getting in and out of the binding is comfortable and effortless. This makes the model particularly suitable for smaller skiers or those returning from an injury looking for a smooth and playful skiing experience. The new Peregrine 80 is easy to handle, especially forgiving, and requires less effort for full all-mountain fun.

The technologically revised versions of the Deacon 84 and Deacon 80 redefine skiing in the all-mountain segment and offer an unrivaled experience that combines maximum precision, versatility and feel.
