Valle Nevado Heliski Opens For 2025 Season, Celebrating 35 Years As South America's Premier Heli-Ski Destination

Valle Nevado Heliski, South America’s premier heli-skiing destination, has launched the 2025 season, inviting skiers and snowboarders to experience backcountry adventure in the Andes. Running from late July through early September, Valle Nevado Heliski offers access to more than 480 square miles of untouched terrain, featuring descents of over 5,000 vertical feet beneath towering 21,000-foot peaks.

“What makes Valle Nevado unique is the sheer vertical relief of the Andes. It’s the second largest mountain range in the world,” said Mike Barney, a Valle Nevado Heliski guide. “You can ski runs with 4,000 to 6,000 feet of vertical drop, depending on snow conditions. It's a huge area with no real boundaries except the Argentinian border. Every day is customized to the pace, experience, and comfort level of each group.”

Guests ski in small groups of up to four people per guide, ensuring flexibility and personalized attention. Whether you’re trying heli-skiing for the first time or an advanced rider chasing steep descents and deep powder, Valle Nevado Heliski offers tailored itineraries ranging from single-day excursions to week-long adventures.

“We’re not just running people through a program. We’re creating truly personalized mountain experiences,” Barney added. “Whether it’s someone’s first time in a helicopter or they’ve been heli-skiing for decades, we read the group and adjust the pace, terrain, and style accordingly.”

With more than 35 years of guiding expertise, safety remains the foundation of the Valle Nevado Heliski experience. For 2025, the resort has introduced new BCA avalanche safety gear, including airbag packs, beacons, shovels, and probes for all guests. The guiding team includes seasoned local experts with decades of experience in the Andes, certified in avalanche forecasting, first aid, and rescue operations.

“From glacial peaks to deep canyons and ridgelines, Valle’s terrain is both massive and majestic,” said Richard Margulis, general manager of Valle Nevado. “With the first runs just a 5-minute flight from the resort, our guests maximize their time on the snow in one of the world’s most awe-inspiring alpine environments.”
