TRM: Imst Bergbahnen Invests In The Future

The Imster Bergbahnen has expanded the technical equipment of the ski area from 2016 to 2019.

This included extensive construction work in which a storage pond was created, field lines were laid and pumping stations were built. The cables for this project came from the local manufacturer Tiroler Nahrungsmittel GmbH. In this project, which was planned by the engineering office Gstrein + Partner ZT GmbH, snow lines with nominal widths from DN80 to DN400 were used over a length of 5150 meters. In the upper section, sewer pipes with a nominal width of DN150 were also installed over a length of 700 meters. The pipes were laid by Porr Tiefbau. Due to the conditions on the mountain, some of the lines had to be transported to the steep slopes by helicopter.

The storage pond was realized by the company Fiegl Tiefbau from Ötztal-Bahnhof. The operations manager of Imster Bergbahnen Stefan Kropf and managing director Bmstr. Ing.Bernhard Schöpf, who himself has a lot of construction experience, supervised the construction work and ensured that the construction site ran smoothly over the three years. The decision in favor of Tiroler Nahrungsmittel GmbH was made due to the geographical proximity and the added value in Tyrol.

The company also scored with deliveries to the construction site with vehicles with cranes. A special plus was the pre-graded route inspection with a technician from Tiroler Nahrungsmittel GmbH. An exact parts list was created, which contained all the required fittings and also contained node details in elaborated sketches. For the future there are considerations for a village railway.

This means that visitors would be able to access the ski area in Imst, and would save the trip to Hochimst. The Hochimst ski area is a family mountain that enjoys good use in both summer and winter. This can be traced back to the varied offer, for example there is an illuminated toboggan run, skiers and tourers appreciate the mountain equally.

As early as 2003, the Alpincoaster, the longest summer toboggan run in the Alps, opened. Skiers and tourers alike appreciate the mountain.
