Tirol And OSV Continue Successful Partnership

Tirol Tourist Board and the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) have been working together for over 30 years. In the run-up to the start of the World Cup in Sölden, a "Letter of Intent" (LOI) was signed, which guarantees the presentation of the "Tyrol" brand to the national teams and the events organized by the ÖSV in Tyrol until 2028. The corresponding detailed agreement on this should be available by the end of the year.

“The cooperation with the ÖSV has made a major contribution to our country being the number 1 sports country in the Alps today. I am pleased that this successful cooperation for the coming years up to 2028 could be agreed in good time before the first World Cup races this weekend in Sölden," emphasizes Tyrol's Governor Günther Platter .

"We are thus making a clear commitment to the sporting region of Tyrol and a partnership that we have often been envied for on the one hand, and which on the other hand we want to continue and develop positively with a great deal of innovative strength and sporting spirit," says State Councilor for Sports and Deputy Governor Josef Geisler .

ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober also wants to start the next stage of the successful partnership with this enthusiasm: “The time for the extension could not have been better. A few days before the start of the World Cup in Tyrol and at the beginning of the upcoming World Cup winter - these are very good omens to get off to a flying start! Together we are very motivated to put new, contemporary and creative plans into practice.”

ÖSV General Secretary Christian Scherer also thanks him for successfully setting the course for the future : "The importance and also the radiance of our joint partnership, which began more than 30 years ago on the initiative of Peter Schröcks Nadel, was decisive that in discussions with the representatives of the state of Tyrol, it quickly became clear to both sides that they wanted to continue this tried-and-tested partnership up to and including the 2027/28 season.”

The new cooperation agreement with a term of 5 years regulates the presentation of the Tyrol brand, but also secures the state rights packages for events and races, especially for the World Cup events in Tyrol.

The state also intends to continue and further develop the "Tirol Berg" as a communication platform established in 2001 in the context of ski world championships in Germany and abroad.

The LOI that is now available, which regulates the cornerstones of the cooperation, must now be worked out between the ÖSV and Tirol Tourist Board, emphasizes Mario Gerber , chairman of the Tyrol Tourism Board: "We have set ourselves the goal that the implementation of the outlined subject areas should be completed by the end of the year is recorded in a detailed cooperation agreement.”

Karin Seiler , managing director of Tirol Tourist Board, also emphasizes this aspect : “The fundamental decision supported by the state of Tirol lays the basis for the perception of the 'Tirol' brand in winter sports. In a partnership of equals with the ÖSV, we must now make even better use of this successful positioning in top-class sport to address potential holiday guests.”
