Third Edition Of Swiss-Ski Night By Sunrise Celebrated As A Success

The third edition of Swiss-Ski Night by Sunrise celebrated the successful 2024/25 season in a festive setting and brought the Swiss snow sports community together in Zurich. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Swiss-Ski Awards to the outstanding snow sports stars of the past winter.
Hall 622 in Zurich-Oerlikon became the meeting place for the Swiss snow sports community on Friday evening, May 9, 2025. Around 960 guests accepted the invitation to the Swiss-Ski Night by Sunrise – the snow sports gala of the year. The event was dedicated to appreciation, personal exchange, and a shared look back at an extraordinary season. The focus was on the athletes who shaped the 2024/25 season with their successes – accompanied by representatives from sports, business, and influential figures from the association.
Under the motto " Shining Champions – Artists on Snow ," the stage became a platform for outstanding achievements. A total of eight awards were presented in five categories – from top athletes and up-and-coming talents to dedicated personalities behind the scenes. The title of "Female Athlete of the Year" went to Camille Rast, and "Athlete of the Year" was named for the third time in a row by Marco Odermatt. Arnaud Boisset took home the award for best social media content of the season, while Niels Hintermann received the "Outstanding Achievement Award" for his strength and perseverance over the past season.
The next generation was also put in the spotlight: Malorie Blanc (Alpine), James Pacal (Nordic), and Noémie Wiedmer (Freestyle) were honored as Rookies of the Year. The "Hidden Hero Award" went to Dieter Waldspurger, the long-time Ski Cross Race Director – representing those who are achieving great things away from the cameras.
“I am still overwhelmed – for the first time, the entire Swiss-Ski family was united in one place to celebrate the successful season together,” said Diego Züger, Co-CEO of Swiss-Ski.
In addition to the awards, the evening offered numerous opportunities for interaction. Active athletes met legends of past decades, officials from the eleven sports shared experiences, and the association's partners were able to help shape the shared success in a celebratory setting. Employees and back-office staff were also present and were able to fully enjoy the festivities. Personal interaction was just as central to the event as the official program. The event concluded with an atmospheric after-party featuring DJs Moser and Schelker – a successful conclusion to an evening dedicated to Swiss snow sports.
