Tess Ledeux (Fra) And Jesper Tjader (Swe) Are The 2023 Slopestyle Champions Of The 10th Freeski World Cup Corvatsch In Silvaplana

The Freeski Slopestyle finals of the anniversary edition of the Corvatsch Freeski & Snowboard World Cup in Silvaplana took place on Saturday with perfect course and weather conditions. It was at the last World Cup of the season and Tess Ledeux (FRA) and Jesper Tjader (SWE) were crowned the beaming winners.

FINALS FREESKI - It was a hard-to-beat final of nail-biting suspense up until the very last rider, both in the women's and men's competitions. Riding levels were unbelievably high and in the second run, almost everyone went one better, and the podium was in almost constant flux until the end.

In the women's competition, France's Tess Ledeux was smiling from the top of the podium for the third time after 2018 and 2021. The reigning Big Air World Champion landed a commanding second run and was rewarded by the judges with the highest score of the day (93.25 points): "I am so happy to end the season with a victory. It's my fifth podium at Corvatsch, I feel really comfortable here and I'm already looking forward to the World Championships in two years!" Switzerland's Sarah Hoefflin was right behind her in second place, with Johanne Killi (NOR) completing the podium in third.

In the men's category, Jesper Tjäder (SWE) was delighted with the Corvatsch Slopestyle title and his second ever World Cup win. He secured the day's highest score of 94.25 points with his first run, which none of his competitors were able to beat. Silvaplana and Jesper are a good match: “It feels great! The last time I won a World Cup it was here in Silvaplana, 9 years ago. It’s a confirmation that I still got it. I feel better than ever on skis.” Evan MacEachran (CAN) and high-flyer Birk Ruud (NOR) completed the podium. Ruud made the top three in the second run with a double flair 900 on the pipe feature at the last moment, delivering a flawless World Cup season with a podium finish in every single World Cup he has competed in during the 2022/23 season.

CRYSTAL GLOBES - Norway's Johanne Killi and her compatriot Birk Ruud deservedly take home both the small Crystal Globe for the FIS Slopestyle discipline ranking and the large Crystal Globe for the overall World Cup, for their consistent and outstanding performances this season. A great triumph for the Norwegians!
