TechnoAlpin Developing Large-scale Project In Bosnia & Herzegovina

The Jahorina Olympic Center is situated just a few kilometers south-east of Sarajevo. This was the venue for the women’s downhill skiing races at the 1984 Winter Olympics. The ski resort has 20 kilometers of slopesand eight ski lifts. TechnoAlpin won the public tender for the project and will be providing the ski slopes with snow from modern snow guns from the 2018/2019 winter season onwards.
The ski resort has big plans for the extension of its snowmaking system for the coming winter season with TechnoAlpin technology. The work will be completed in time for the start of the season and involves several sections of the snowmaking system. The water supply will be reinforced by two powerful, high-pressure pumps and two central compressors. The two high-pressure pumps will have a total output of 100 l/s. A mobile pumping station will provide additional support for the water supply system. The water requirements will be met by the construction of a new reservoir. It will hold 75,000 m³ of water and will be fitted with a reservoir aeration system.
The snowmaking capacity will also be reinforced by the addition of newsnow guns. Cast iron pipes, data cables and electric cables will be laid on 6.5 km of slopes. There will also be 68 concrete pits for snow guns installed there. A total of 25 new fan guns and 40 snow lances of different types will ensure optimal snow quality on the ski slopes in future. The ultra-modern TR8 will be joined by T40 machines and powerful TF10fan guns as well as V3 and V3ee lances. These snowmaking systems will provide coverage for the ski slopes in the area served by the Ogorjelica I and Poljice six-seater chairlifts. The ATASSplus software will be installed for fully automatic control of the snowmaking systems.
TechnoAlpin is proud to be managing such a big and important project and is pleased to have been chosen to guarantee the fully automatic snowmaking of the highest quality for the Jahorina Olympic Center.
