Switzerland Promotes Springtime

There is still time to enjoy some spring skiing as the snow conditions in many resort are still impeccable! And anyone who's done with winter should head to Switzerland and witness the cherry blossoms that enchant visitors to the city of Bern every spring.

Gourmets can take part in a range of culinary tours to explore Lausanne in its various facets, whereas train enthusiasts should head to the southern part of Switzerland and enjoy a ride on the Centovalli Railway, which celebrates its centenary this year.

Art lovers should visit the Royal Academy in London to marvel at the works of Swiss painter Angelica Kauffman, one of the most celebrated artists of the 18th century.

Spring skiing in Zermatt

Locals attest that March and April are the best months for spring skiing in the Matterhorn Ski Paradise (above Zermatt), Europe’s highest ski area. These months offer perfect snow conditions, well-groomed pistes and ample rays of spring sunshine. Visitors can unwind with a drink on a sunny terrace before heading back down to the car-free village.

This spring, Bern's Rosengarten will turn into a pink paradise, framing the city's famous UNESCO-listed Old Town. These exotic trees were gifted to the city by Japanese farmer and beekeeper Yoshiyuki Urata in1975. Visitors can see them blossom from late March to mid-April.

Until 30 June 2024, visitors to the RA can explore her life and famous works, including her celebrity portraits, ceiling frescos and historical paintings.
