Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Launches Immersive Culinary Experiences & Best Deal Of The Summer

he Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, in partnership with Sun Peaks Resort, is launching a new immersive dining experience led by globally influenced, internationally trained Executive Chef Kartik Kumar. The Travel Dining Series at Mantles Restaurant is a sensory experience that transports guests to Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, over a multi-course dinner showcasing authentic cuisine and stories inspired by Chef Kartik’s personal experiences living and working around the world.
The Travel Series line-up:
- Singapore – July 23: The Hawker Stands of Singapore, featuring char kway (stir fry), laksa (soup), and taro ice cream.
- Thailand – August 6: The Aroma and Spices of Siam, featuring larb gai (salad), gaeng ped ped yang (curry),and sticky rice dessert.
- Vietnam – September 23: Hanoi Nights and Flavours, featuring goi vit xoai (salad rolls), bo luc lac (beef and noodles), and banh kem flan vai lychee flavored (flan).

Chef Kartik joined the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Sun Peaks Resort in April 2024 to lead the extensive culinary team across multiple food and beverage outlets. With over 40 years of experience in ethnic cuisine gained from kitchens around the world, he has been a transformative mentor and visionary behind key dining venues in Sun Peaks, including Mantles Restaurant, Morrisey’s Public House, Masa’s Bar + Grill, and the Sun Peaks Grand’s conference and banquet operations. He has cooked for Mother Teresa, Prince Charles, and the Dalai Lama, is a published author, and speaks six languages. In 2006, he was awarded British Columbia’s Outstanding Chef of the Year.
