Summer In St. Moritz – Light, Lively, Full Of Surprises

The legendary holiday resort again beckons visitors with a wide variety of opportunities during the warm season that bring together nature, exercise, sport, fine dining, and culture in a way that only the Engadine can. If you think St. Moritz is purely a winter wonderland you are in for a delightful surprise this summer.
From Breath-Taking Thrills to Divine Relaxation: Whether out in the fresh air breaking a sweat, exploring an artist’s studio, or enjoying a meal at a rustic stone-pine table, summer in St. Moritz is a captivating medley of contrasts, a kaleidoscope of perspectives: deep, centring breathing vs. bold adventures; inspiring cultural content vs. moments of peace and quiet. The Engadine mountainscape is a glorious backdrop for epic stories and sweet little getaways. This summer is full of variety for summit seekers, hikers, fine food lovers, and explorers alike … and for all of you who are drawn to this perch at 1,856 metres above sea level not only for the view but also to savour every exquisite nuance that life has to offer.
A new dimension of movement: Hike & Fly & Red Bull X-Alps
The season kicks off with Red Bull X-Alps, one of the world’s most spectacular hike-and-fly races. This is the first time St. Moritz will be an official stage city, visited twice by some 35 athletes. They will arrive by paraglider at the Zirkuswiese Meadow and continue on foot to Plazza Mauritius in the village centre – all accompanied by “Chill & Grill” evenings, partner activations, and alpine storytelling from 15 to 27 June 2025. www.redbullxalps.com
Pause, Discover, Rejuvenate: Architecture, Mindfulness, and Health
St. Moritz will celebrate International Yoga Day on 27 June 2025 with free sessions on the lawn in front of the Reithalle led by international instructors. The programme includes breathwork, meditation, and invigorating rest. Something for body and mind, open to all, against the magnificent natural backdrop of the Upper Engadine. www.stmoritz.com
Mindfulness plays a central role all summer with THE BEAT RETREAT as a special highlight from 4 to 10 August, 2025. The event integrates world-class expertise in fitness, yoga, and wellness into the Alpine lifestyle of the Upper Engadine with a holistic programme of Pilates, breathwork, outdoor workouts, glacial lake plunges, IV therapies, sound baths, inspirational talks, and much more. www.thebeat.fit
Just in time for summer, a new concept is taking shape in Plazza Mauritius, directly in front of the info centre. In collaboration with the traditional Hanselmann Café and the artist Laura Bott, two walk-through half-circles with seating – inspired by traditional alpine crafts – will be installed and planted with organically grown flowers. Furniture created by the Zurich-based design company Embru invites passersby to stop, sit back, and take in the village life around them.
As part of Open Doors Engadine, private homes, architectural landmarks, and historic spaces will open their doors over the weekend of 28-29 June 2025. Admission is free, with guided tours offering insights into architecture, heritage preservation, and alpine design. A unique opportunity to rediscover the soul of Engadine architecture. www.opendoors-engadin.org
Another major highlight is the Health & Longevity Forum, taking place from 18 to 21 October 2025. This year’s edition will be particularly international and visionary: experts in medicine, research, nutrition, philosophy, and technology will gather in St. Moritz to discuss the future prospects for living long, healthy lives. With lectures, mini retreats, and interactive panels, the Engadine will host a think tank for forward-looking health – at the intersection of nature, science, and lifestyle. www.hlforum.ch
A Summer of Flavours: Tavolata St. Moritz and Summer Markets
From 23 to 27 July 2025 in the village centre, the stage will be set for delectable hospitality: Tavolata St. Moritz makes its grand return with an extended programme, pop-up dinners (Tavolini), a Notte Bianca, street food, DJs, BBQ traditions, vintage cars, and the legendary 400-metre stone-pine table. With the support of more than 55 partners, this festival is a tribute to alpine cuisine, conviviality, and an open-hearted community. www.tavolatastmoritz.ch
On various dates from June through September, the St. Moritz Summer Market will again line Via Maistra with regional crafts, culinary delights, and music. Also appearing at these and other select events is the pink Rosa Mammut coffee trailer, offering high-quality coffee, signature drinks, handmade cornetti, and a generous helping of charm.
Music, Culture, Sport, and Roaring Engines
This summer’s rich programme also includes events such as the Festival da Jazz, Passione Engadina, the Concours Hippique, sailing regattas, the Running Festival, the Swiss Epic, and the St. Moritz Art Film Festival (SMAFF) from 21 to 24 August 2025. With international filmmakers, discussions, and screenings, SMAFF will once again become a cultural think tank at the intersection of art and film. www.smaff.org
Capping off the late summer season with a touch of glamour is the newly arrived Bernina Gran Turismo (18–21 September 2025). This legendary hill climb race brings classic cars to what may be the most beautiful racetrack in the Alps: the winding road up to the Bernina Pass between La Rösa and Ospizio Bernina. A celebration of motorsport, landscape, and hospitality at the highest level, the event promises unforgettable moments for drivers and spectators alike. www.bernina-granturismo.com
