Successful SIGB Snow Test Wraps Up

SIGB's 2024 snow test has wrapped up. Each year  members of the UK snowsport trade (representing brands, retailers and media) travel to the Alps for a week of intensive ski and snowboard testing.

SIGB (Snowsport Industries Of Great Britain) is the trade association for skiing and snowboarding in the UK. SIGB Organises A Range Of Activities For Its Members And The General Promotion Of Snowsport.

The Test has taken place in Pila (ITA), Saalbach (AUT), Kuhtai (AUT), La Clusaz (FRA), Glenshee (Scotland) and Galtur (AUT).

Around 800 pairs of skis and snowboards are subjected to more than 3,000 individual tests, recorded on a custom designed app and database.

Conditions varied from fresh powder, rain soaked slush, spring snow, boilerplate and everything in between. A real test of what every skier is likely to experience at some point these days.

Some descriptionOrganiser Mike Jardine said "It was great to see everyone in La Clusaz making the most of very variable
conditions."

It’s the ultimate winter playground for our industry and the proving-ground for the latest ski and snowboard innovations.

With more than 20 hardware brands attending with their latest kit ready for your on-snow evaluation, the test centre itself was not just about gear; it’s was also a hub for networking and the latest industry buzz. Plus, post-ski, there were social activities and the occasional beer session.

We certainly got ALL the conditions to give everything a thorough on-mountain test!  Hope you had an amazing time out there and a smooth journey home despite the road blocks. Enjoy the rest of your winter season!"

It was the ideal handover to the new team from Hillside Outside, who will be running the Test in La Clusaz in January 2025.
