There is a new entry to the Stubai event calendar. The Stubai Tirol Tourism Board together with the Schlick 2000 Skiing Centre and the GrillXperts team invite you to join the spicy and smoky epicurean event "SKI & BBQ Schlick 2000" from 13 to 15 March 2020. In the context of the "SKI & BBQ Schlick 2000", six BBQ teams are facing special challenges – BBQing in winter, at the ski lodge, at 2,000 metres above sea level. For winter sports enthusiasts, the term pleasure skiing this weekend will be extended by a completely new aspect.
The "Stubai Winter BBQ Championships 2020" event that will take place between 13 to 15 March 2020 in the Schlick 2000 area is unique. Having a barbecue in winter is not really unusual for BBQ fans – but a professionally organised BBQ challenge amidst a skiing resort at over 2,000 metres above sea level is. Six international BBQ teams will compete against each other – not in one place, but distributed over six lodges across the entire skiing area. This means that fragrant smoke will rise above the entire Schlick 2000! The various music acts will contribute to a heated atmosphere as well.

A spicy competition
During the "Ski & BBQ Schlick 2000" event, winter sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to ski from one ski lodge to the next with wonderful piste and snow conditions and enjoy the delicacies available at every barbecue station. With their own BBQ Consumption and Evaluation Pass, which is available at the Schlick 2000 Valley Station ticket office, visitors can also join the public jury, which has a major say when the title of "Stubai Winter BBQ Champions 2020" is awarded. They are supported by top-class expert jurors, who provide valuable tips and advice on the quality, craftsmanship and presentation of the barbecued dishes at each station.

International rules will be followed in the context of the "Stubai Winter BBQ Championships 2020". The "Ski & BBQ Schlick 2000" will be a real challenge for the six BBQ teams. After all, in addition to the wintery temperatures, the altitude of over 2,000 metres and the associated lower oxygen content of the air, which influences the cooking process, must also be taken into account. On each competition day, one dish of the three categories of fish, lamb and beef is prepared respectively. For this purpose, a uniform product basket is available, mainly filled with products from the Stubai Valley and the surrounding regions. It is up to the individual teams to decide how to carry out the tasks at hand. Each team prepares a main BBQ dish with side dishes. The "Ski & BBQ Schlick 2000" provides for lots of variety and guests will probably be surprised by the various culinary specialities on offer.
