Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup Finals Move To Corvatsch Park, St. Moritz & Engadine Bid To Host Freestyle & Snowboard World Champs 2025

Corvatsch AG is proud to announce to host the FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup finals from March 27th – 28th, 2021, additionally to the 8th edition of the Freeski Slopestyle World Cup finals which are scheduled for March 26th – 27th. Corvatsch jumps in short-term for Spindleruv Mlyn, as the event cannot be hold as planned due to stricter Covid-19 restrictions in Czech Republic.

It’s exciting news that Snowboarding will be added to the official program at Corvatsch Park, as this winter season has been a different one with less contests as usual. After only one Slopestyle World Cup so far, riders are getting ready for the FIS Freestyle World Championships in the US right now and some of them might return as the new World Champions to Corvatsch Park at the end of the month.

Silvaplana has a long and impressive history as a competition venue with the 8th edition of the Freeski World Cup scheduled later this month. The local expertise as well as a stand-out park setup for the best riders in the world make Corvatsch the perfect venue for freestylers. For the organizers it’s a logical step to add snowboarding with all the necessary infrastructure in place. Riders are stoked to finish the World Cup season at Corvatsch.

Covid-19: Host and organizer Corvatsch AG is working closely with Swiss Ski and FIS implementing a strict Covid-19 protocol in all areas to ensure a safe environment for athletes, staff and everyone involved meeting all governmental regulations. FIS is making sure, that athletes, coaches and all other team members will stay in their “bubble” and travel directly from the contests overseas to Silvaplana/St. Moritz to ensure a safe and healthy competition for all. The event will be held without spectators but will be accessible to watch online and on TV.

Application handed in for the Ski-Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships 2025

In other exciting news St. Moritz and Engadine together with Swiss Ski handed in the candidature to host the Ski-Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships 2025. The International Ski Federation (FIS) will decide by June who will be the organizer. Next to the cantonal support, the ‘Oberengadiner Bergbahnen’ together with all 12 municipalities in the valley including Silvaplana and the ‘Engadin St. Moritz Tourismus’ (ESTM AG) are very excited about potentially hosting this prestigious major event. The area is dedicated to develop their activities and offerings for freestyle snowboarders and freeskiers over the next years.
