Snowbird, UT, Brings Back Oktoberfest

Snowbird’s renowned Oktoberfest is back—bigger, bolder and built for anyone who wants more than the ordinary. Every weekend from Aug. 9 through Oct. 12, including Labor Day, this year’s Oktoberfest enhances the guest experience with easier access, a wider footprint and a lineup that caters to diverse interests for every visitor—while staying true to its Bavarian heritage. Bring your family, your appetite and your curiosity for all that’s possible at Oktoberfest.

Expanded Footprint, More to Offer
The festival footprint has grown this year. A new Little Halle provides covered seating and a quieter atmosphere than the Main Halle. The updated layout of Der Marketplaz provides immersive shopping of an array of locally sourced goods and Utah-based vendors. As part of Snowbird’s ongoing partnership with Play Forever, each weekend, a local nonprofit will be featured in its dedicated booth, affording those organizations the platform to make a real grassroots impact through face-to-face community connections.

Art and tradition collide every Saturday and Sunday. Every festival day, a commissioned artist paints Snowbird’s wings underneath the portico. The beloved beard and mustache contest, as well as the popular German tradition of stein-holding, return for the perfect balance of competition and entertainment.

Starting the Opening Weekend, live music can be heard in the Main Halle and around the Chickadee Stage. To accompany the tunes, the Oktoberfest food and drink are unapologetically German. Choose between a variety of over 50 Local and European brews, spread across 14 beer tents. Senior Executive Chef Ben Mogren’s fifth-generation bratwurst and frankfurter recipes deliver an Oktoberfest dining experience best paired with 24 oz Über Pretzels, Jaeger & Wiener Schnitzel and potato pancakes.

“Oktoberfest at Snowbird isn’t just a festival, it’s a show of spirit, a celebration of what sets Snowbird apart,” said Dave Fields, President and GM of Snowbird. “Come for the food, the music, the art or the activities. Everyone finds their reason to return.”

New Arrival Process and Transportation Option

Snowbird has revamped the ways that guests visit Oktoberfest. The larger entryway and expanded turnaround space make drop-off and pick-up more efficient. A newly created entrance point from The Lodge at Snowbird enables people to conveniently access the grounds from multiple entrances.

As with past seasons, paid parking is available in Entries 1 through 4 at Snowbird. For those who would rather not drive, Snowbird is partnering with Snow Country Limos to offer free round-trip service in 36-passenger vans from the 94th and Highland Drive Park & Ride, starting at 12 pm and departing from Snowbird every 40 minutes.

“We are excited to provide free transportation through our partnership with Snow Country to make getting to and from Oktoberfest effortless for our guests and employees,” says Fields.
