Smith Expands FIS-Approved Offerings With New Counter Race Helmet

Building on a successful launch into the race market last season, Smith expands its FIS-approved offerings with the new Counter helmet to bring elevated impact-absorbing technology and protection to every run.

Designed for aspiring and seasoned racers alike, the Counter utilizes the same advanced ABS hard shell and engineered foam core as the podium-worthy Icon race helmet, while offering zonal coverage of Koroyd® - a series of crumple-zone cylinders that crush uniformly on impact– to provide lightweight, durable, energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection. The use of engineered EPP foam core in the front of the helmet also enhances durability from repeat gate impacts, while the addition of the MIPS® Brain Protection System reduces rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head in case of a crash.

The plush interior lining with XT2® anti-bacterial performanceprovides complete comfort and the ear pad construction reduces noise interference while on the course. Like all Smith helmets, the Counter is designed for ultimate integration with Smith goggles to eliminate fogging and maximize comfort on the hill.

For slalom disciplines, the Counteralso has a compatible and removable nylon chin guard (sold separately).

The new Counter helmet(MSRP $250, Weight 25 oz) and Counter Jr. helmet available in two youth sizes(MSRP $250, Weight 25 oz), conforms to FIS RH 2013 requirements, and will be available Fall 2021 at select specialty retailers worldwide and online at smithoptics.com.
