SkiWelt Wins International Sustainability Award & Audience Award Ski Resorts Overall

Every year in April, around 1,000 experts from the winter sports travel industry, ski associations and journalists meet in the USA for the Mountain Travel Symposium, the largest winter sports trade fair in the world. The participants came mainly from the USA, Canada and South America, but many well-known ski resorts from Europe were also there. The MTS 2024 took place in Lake Tahoe in mid-April. As part of the high-profile forum, SkiWelt from Austria was awarded the Sustainability Award for all its many years of efforts from among all the nominees (e.g. Ski Utah, Vail, Weisse Arena Gruppe, 3 Zinnen and many more). Vail received a second prize for its special mental health program to prevent mental illness for its employees. The awards were presented to the winners by Brian Roth, Sales Director of United Airlines. For SkiWelt, the MTS was also the official market launch in the US market. In October 2023, SkiWelt became Indy Pass's first European partner ski resort. The Indy Pass is a ski pass network of privately run ski resorts. Founded 5 years ago for the smaller ski resorts in the USA, they are now one of the fastest growing with over 200 ski resorts on 3 continents. You can sense that skiers are looking for the charm of privately run ski resorts. Just 2 days after the SkiWelt season opened, the first Indy Pass holder visited the SkiWelt.

Schneehöhen.de | Audience Award Ski Resort Winner Overall

Every year, one of the largest winter holiday portals, "Schneehoehen.de", gives skiers the opportunity to vote. In the 2023-24 season, no fewer than 40,000 people voted for their ski resorts. In the supreme discipline, best ski resort overall, this year the skiers voted the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental in first place, ahead of Ischgl and the Arlberg. The SkiWelt was also convincing in the Best Huts & Gastronomy Offer category and won this too. It was equally pleasing that the SkiWelt came second in the Best Family Ski Resort category.
