Ski Solutions Sees Strong Start To The Season

Ski Solutions, Britain's original specialist ski travel agency and tailor-made tour operator, announces a promising start to the ski season thanks to exceptional early season snowfall. Resorts across The Alps and North American locations have been blanketed in early-season snow, with forecasts remaining promising to create perfect conditions on the slopes. With freezing levels consistently low and temperatures remaining cold at altitude, conditions are favourable for lasting snow and a promising season. 

Starting the season off strong, resorts such as Val d'Isere in France and Livigno in Italy, which are open and benefitting from improved coverage, with 8cm snow predicted in Val d’Isere over the next seven days and cold fronts remaining strong in both areas. Les Deux Alpes, often a reliable resort choice, is anticipating fresh snow of up to 21cm across the next seven days. In Switzerland, the early season is focused on resorts such as Zermatt, expecting 7cm of snow in the next seven days, providing confidence in a strong start to the European ski season. 

Resorts across North America have also signalled a strong start to the season, particularly across the Rockies and Western Canada, which are showing favourable conditions. Canadian ski resort Whistler Blackcomb is set for an exceptional start to the season, seeing 67cm of snow set to fall in the next seven days, while Vail in Colorado is set for 21cm of fresh snow over the same time period. 

Ian McIlrath, Managing Director of Ski Solutions, commented on the conditions, saying “With many resorts already open or about to open, now is a prime time to book in a winter holiday to get those preferred dates and resorts and avoid the peak season crowd, as well as benefit from the fresh snow. With good snowfall everywhere, including the lower altitude slopes, there's great coverage for beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers alike”.

Looking ahead for the season as a whole, McIlrath notes “These strong conditions so early in the season provide confidence in the months ahead and afford skiers the chance to plan, book, and enjoy a trip this season. I’m already excited by what this season is going to offer!”
