Ski Ride Tours Create Ski Packages That Guarantee Fresh Powder On Your Ski Trip! No Powder, No Trip

The founders and operators of Ski Ride Tours have done the unthinkable and created ski packages that guarantee fresh powder on your ski trip! No powder, no trip.

Most skiers and snowboarders will agree that a vacation with fresh powder is the best vacation on this planet. On the flip side, the most disappointing ski trip is when you spend months salivating over Instagram powder photos and you line up for first chair wondering if your jacket will hold up to a rainstorm or how thrashed your skis will get while you stubbornly ski your favorite bowl despite the previous months dry spell.

After 20 years of offering trips to the best ski destinations during the best months, owners Brian & KC McCooey, like many others, have occasionally been skunked with bad ski conditions. "We've had amazing powder weeks in Alta/Snowbird, Jackson Hole, Aspen/Snowmass, Whistler, Fernie, Chamonix, Innsbruck and others. But, we've also had very poor snow weeks at some of those same places plus crappy snow days/weeks at Zermatt, Vail, Val d'Isere, Red Mountain and others."

In January of 2018, Brian was hoping to plan a last-minute trip and while tracking the storms he noticed this monster that was going to drop 100+ inches in Chamonix, France over 5 days. "For 3 days in a row, the various weather reports/models were consistently saying 100 inches. We gotta go! So, I emailed all of our regular clients about a last-minute trip to Chamonix: 5 days of epic powder skiing and riding, BUT... only one client could pull the trigger and go. Ugh, we couldn't make it happen."

Frustrated by this and not wanting to ski on crappy snow anymore, Brian had an epiphany. "Why don't we change All of our trips to “Powder Hunt” weeks and find more like-minded powder-addicts who are willing to have the destination be a mystery, book last-minute and then shred powder for several days! The mission was set: Brian was determined to not let his clients pay good dough for crappy snow and build a community of powder hounds to play with! Powder Hunt Weeks were born - "It's all about the Powder, Not the destination".

Ski Ride Tours sets the trip dates in advance, especially for those who cannot drop work and book a last-minute trip. Skiers and boarders ink the dates on their calendar while Brian tracks the storms and analyzes resort conditions, snow depths and other variables. Then, after the anticipation levels have everyone shadow boxing in front of the mirror, Brian pulls the trigger on the destination/s at 3-4 days prior to departure. Bookings are made, the stoke is off the hook, everybody packs and gets ready to go! IF there is no significant Powder forecast anywhere for the scheduled week, we will NOT book and all deposits will be refunded.

Their first Powder Hunt in 2018 landed them in Revelstoke and Kicking Horse Mountain Resorts in BC. Powder face-shots everyday, whoops and hollers, giddy child-like laughs with cocktails in the hot tub. Sore and rock-solid thighs....an EPIC week! Well worth the few hundred extra bucks for last-minute bookings of airfare, lodging, lift tickets and shuttles.

Last season, we landed in Whistler/Blackcomb, BC and scored 3+ feet of fresh snow, Hokkaido, Japan with over 5 feet of powder and Jackson Hole, WY with 6 feet of epic pow! Again, everyone was pumped, high-fivin', whoopin and hollerin. "We skied and rode our butts off everyday, enjoyed a few beers in the hot tub as it continued to snow, dodged a charging Moose on the way back to the condo, woofed down a tasty meal then hit the sack... anticipating another pow day. YES! powder skiing is a healthy, heart-pumping, mind-blowing addiction."

For 2020, Ski Ride Tours has 5 Powder Hunt Weeks on the menu. Tour prices range from $2500-$3000 for airfare, 6 nights lodging, 5 days of skiing, shuttles and staff/host on site. Dates and details can be seen at http://www.skiridetours.com or call Brian directly at 307-690-0541 to talk powder.

Again, fresh Powder is the #1 priority. A great ski destination with amazing terrain is #2. And, Brian urges you "don't drop good dough on crappy snow." Let him hunt for it and take you to it!
