Serre Chevalier Continues To Write Its Story For Season 2026

This winter, Serre Chevalier continues to write its story with passion and boldness. On the ski area, the experience grows richer still: a new beginner zone, fun activities and unifying events will set the rhythm of the season.

Among the highlights, three exceptional new hotels – Serra Neva, La Caserne de Briançon, and La Maison des Drapiers – are opening this winter, while the Grands Bains du Monêtier unveil “La Rotonde”, a one-of-a-kind spa offering moments of pure relaxation against a backdrop of soaring peaks.

Located in the heart of the village of La Salle-les-Alpes, the new 4-star residence will offer 164 spacious apartments for 2 to 8 people, with hotel services, close to the ski lifts of Serre Chevalier (Pontillas gondola that opened late 2023), which will be reached in under 5 minutes by electric shuttle. A ski shop will also be available within the residence.

In terms of décor, color brings a touch of vibrancy to a premium mountain style. Conviviality will be the key, with a bar and fireplace area for shared moments, while activities and shows will enliven stays with festive and warm experiences! The Kids Club will offer age-appropriate activities for children aged 4 to 17. For wellness, the heated outdoor pool promises relaxing moments with mountain views, while the spa area offers a sauna, steam room, and three treatment rooms (with treatments available for children from age 6). Wellness activities, including yoga and sophrology classes, will extend the sense of well-being beyond the spa area!

  • Opening of the 4* hotel “Caserne de Briançon”, Briançon. Housed in 19th-century former barracks, the 4-star Garrigae Hotel “Caserne de Briançon” elegantly blends historic military heritage with contemporary comfort. Ideally located in the “15/9” district, just steps from Briançon’s historic center and the Serre Chevalier ski lifts (Prorel gondola), the hotel serves as a perfect base for exploring the grand landscapes of the Briançonnais, both in summer and winter. The bistronomic restaurant combines Alpine inspiration with local products.
Located in unique heritage sites, Garrigae brings together properties steeped in history: a distillery in Pézenas, an abbey in Salon-de-Provence, a 1950s villa in Strasbourg, a Victorian house near Poitiers, a former residential estate in Saint-Raphaël and now, a former military barracks in Briançon.
  • Opening of the 4* hôtel “La Maison des Drapiers”, Briançon. After transforming a private mansion listed as a Historic Monument in Nîmes, a 16th-century château in the Drôme Provençale, and a characterful residence at the foot of the Alpilles, the former Aristide Albert Library has been chosen by The Social Club group to become a high-end retreat in the heart of the fortified town of Briançon. The Social Club’s singular vision of a thoughtful, refined luxury—where experience comes first— will make this new 4-star establishment a place of life, craftsmanship and sharing, while remaining faithful to the rich history of this emblematic building of Briançon’s Vauban City, built in 1883. Architect Nathalie d’Artigues (NDA agency) oversaw the transformation of the former library into an intimate hotel with 10 rooms (including one suite and one junior suite) featuring elegant, timeless décor that creates a warm and cocooning atmosphere. Every detail subtly pays homage to the region’s traditions. The restaurant, with 35 seats indoors and 35 outdoors, invites guests on a culinary journey through the emblematic products of local gastronomy. The menu offers a carefully curated selection of homemade, refined, and flavorful dishes, evolving with the seasons and the harvests of nearby producers. At the Boudoir, a lounge will be dedicated to treatments, massages, and relaxation, featuring a double treatment room and a sauna.
  • Opening of the “BodyGo” hostel, Briançon. BodyGo Hostel Briançon is a new accommodation concept welcoming families, groups of friends, backpackers, solo or duo travelers. It is ideally located at the foot of the Serre Chevalier ski lifts (Prorel) to enjoy the joys of the mountains all year round. For this first winter of operation, the hostel will offer dormitory-style beds only, with a shared kitchen for guests who wish to be self-sufficient.
  • Opening of “La Rotonde” spa, Le Monêtier-les-Bains. Scheduled for winter 2025–2026, the new “La Rotonde” Spa is set to enhance the wellness offerings of the Grands Bains du Monêtier with a premium new space. Scheduled for winter 2025–2026, the new “La Rotonde” Spa is set to enhance the wellness offerings of the Grands Bains du Monêtier with a premium new space. This new haven combines authenticity, modernity and Alpine roots, aiming to offer visitors a retreat of relaxation, warmth, and regeneration in an exceptional setting.
  • Ski area: the Méa beginner zone enhanced with a new 450 m drag- lift. Following the opening of the Pontillas gondola in December 2023 (replacing the DMC Pontillas and Fréjus gondolas) which leads to the Méa plateau in the Villeneuve sector, the covered beginner conveyor welcomed its first skiers in winter 2024/25.To further enhance the beginner offering on the Méa plateau, the new “Pré de Jeanne” 450 m drag lift will be added to the two existing lifts on the plateau (Clot and Méa) starting this winter. This project is part of Serre Chevalier’s environmental strategy, which aims, among other things, to favor high-altitude skiing. The ski area adapts to climate challenges while providing a complete beginner-friendly ski offering.

True to its commitments, Serre Chevalier is pursuing its pioneering approach to renewable energy and circular economy, making its ski area one of Europe’s most advanced laboratories for sustainable mountain tourism.

Major events will also punctuate the season: sports competitions, festivals, concerts and festive gatherings… not to mention the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Games, already taking shape behind the scenes.
