Schlosshotel Zermatt: Major Investments And Switzerland's First CBD Spa

In paralle with the interior of the “SchlossCottage” opening this July and the construction of the new “SchlossHouse” on the property adjacent to the hotel, the existing wellness area of the Schlosshotel Zermatt is currently being enlarged. The new spa concept will use the cannabis ingredient cannabidiol (CBD).

The Schlosshotel Zermatt will present itself to its guests in a new way this year. The enlargement includes the construction of the “SchlossHouse” on the property adjacent to the hotel with four feel-good rooms and two suites. A suite can be expanded with two hotel rooms and then offers space for up to 135 m² for six people. Completion is planned for the 2020 winter season.

The first CBD spa in Switzerland

The expansion of the existing spa and fitness area is also part of the renovation. The highlight is the opening of Switzerland's first CBD spa in the 2020 winter season in cooperation with the “SwissCBD” care line, which belongs to the Schibano Pharma Group AG. The long-established Swiss company produces legal hemp products for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry and is certified by Schibano Pharma AG as an active ingredient in the manufacture of CBD as swissmedic GMP / API. A suitable spa concept was developed together with the castle hotel and all treatments in the new “SchlossSpa” were designed together. The castle hotel thus underlines its innovative vision for the wellness market of the future, because the cannabis ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) is trendy and is considered to be calming, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory - without having an intoxicating effect. Accordingly, CBD is used for treatments in the new spa and is also used in the CBD herbal sauna.

The Castle Cottage: Gädi outside, present inside

Two former haystacks have been transformed into a charismatic castle cottage. Original and traditional on the outside, it convinces with a modern extension on three floors and 3.5 rooms, including a mini home cinema with Netflix, Playstation and popcorn machine, as well as a cottage wellness area with its own sauna and balcony. Two bedrooms with a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room with a well-being niche offer a retreat for up to four people without sacrificing the advantages of a hotel. This is ensured by the personalized service of all offers of the hotel including the CBD spa, which are also freely usable. The new SchlossCottage will be open from July 2020.
