Saalbach Hinterglemm Celebrates Its Most Successful Summer In Terms Of Overnight Stays

Saalbach Hinterglemm looks back on the most successful summer in its history in terms of overnight stays. The destination in SalzburgerLand recorded over 913,000 overnight stays in the summer of 2025 – more than ever before, representing an increase of 19.2% compared to the previous year. This confirms the strong development of recent years and the growing importance of the region as a leading alpine summer destination.
“We are thrilled with this sensational season and see it as confirmation of the high quality and diversity of our offerings,” says Wolfgang Breitfuß, Managing Director of the Saalbach Hinterglemm Tourism Association. “This record-breaking summer also motivates us to continue investing consistently in quality, emotional experiences, and sustainability together with our businesses, in order to offer our guests the consistently high quality of stay they expect from us.”
Several new additions to the 2025 summer program also contributed to the success. Montelino's Adventure Alm and the new Adventure Golf course in Hinterglemm further strengthened the family offerings, while the new 12er Sky-Line and Thurner-Line bike trails expanded the already diverse network of trails in Austria's largest bike region and provided an extra boost for bike enthusiasts.
The combination of diverse sporting opportunities, modern infrastructure, and genuine hospitality made summer 2025 a resounding success. Particularly gratifying is the continuous increase in visitor numbers across all target groups – from families and active vacationers to those seeking relaxation, who appreciate the Home of Lässig as both a retreat and a place for adventure. The region has long since ceased to be a winter magnet for visitors and has firmly established itself in the summer as well, with its diverse range of activities and events.
“The record-breaking summer shows that our offerings are in tune with the times,” explains Breitfuß. “We are carrying this energy into the coming winter: After the Ski World Championships in Saalbach last winter and the associated extensive media coverage, we are ideally prepared to build on this success in the coming winter season and offer our guests unforgettable experiences.”
With targeted investments in experiential offerings, sustainable infrastructure and innovative marketing measures, the region aims to build on the success of the record-breaking summer of 2025 in the coming years and further expand its position as a top summer and winter destination.
