Rudy Project Introduces New Spinshield Pro Eyewear & Official UTMB World Series Collection

Rudy Project proudly introduces its latest cylindrical-lens eyewear model: Spinshield Pro, a new addition to the family already featuring the Spinshield andSome description Spinshield Air.

The Spinshield Pro retains the distinctive half-rim frame while taking on a more performance-oriented design, thanks to the inclusion of a fully adjustable nosepiece and vent holes on the lens that prevent fogging.

  • The new fit is secure and customizable, with the updated nosepiece and the ergonomic temples, finished with soft “ultra grip” rubber tips for enhanced comfort and stability.
  • With a 26gr weight, its wide field of vision and refined design make it a sleek and stylish option — ideal both for sports performance and for elevating your everyday look.
  • The large cylindrical lens ensures excellent peripheral vision and eye protection, making the Spinshield Pro perfect for cycling, running, trail running, and cross-country skiing.

As with most Rudy Project models, the brand’s proprietary construction technology allows Spinshield Pro to also feature prescription lenses, thanks to the optical insert that remains invisible behind the sun lens and guarantees stability and comfort.

The Spinshield Pro is available in 9 color and lens combinations, ranging from mirrored lenses featuring RP Optics Multilaser technology to Rudy Project’s top-tier ImpactX photochromic lens. The ImpactX lens is unbreakable and exceptionally adaptive to changing light conditions. This patented technology delivers first-class visual clarity and full UV protection. Plus, all ImpactX lenses come with a lifetime guarantee.

The collection features 8 different models, a selection that includes both racing versions and more lifestyle-oriented models. The range spans from combinations with RP Optics lenses to photochromic options, from single-lens wraparound designs to traditional dual-lens models, up to optical solutions to ensure optimal vision even for athletes and enthusiasts with vision impairments.

Rudy Project’s proprietary technology is what sets it apart in the world of sports optics. The photochromic feature of its lenses is due to pigments embedded directly into the lens material—not just on the surface. This ensures that the lens remains responsive to light over time, even after prolonged use or minor scratches.

The Spinshield Pro also comes in two limited edition releases: one is created in partnership with UTMB World Series, featuring an HDR lens specifically designed to handle the sudden light transitions typical in mountain trail running. The other, instead, celebrates Rudy Project’s 40th anniversary, featuring the original colors of the brand.

During the recently concluded UTMB World Series Finals week in Chamonix, numerous athletes chose Rudy Project for their races. Weather conditions were extremely variable, and eyewear that guaranteed protection and excellent visual capabilities proved essential.

Rudy Project can boast a victory in the MCC with Yoann Stuck (40 km with 2,350 meters of positive elevation gain), Elise Delannoy's third place finish in the women's TDS (153 km with 9,000 meters of positive elevation gain), and three prestigious placements in the UTMB, the flagship 170 km race with 10,000 meters of elevation gain (Magali Mellon finished sixth among women; Yannick Noel and Jiaju Zhao seventh and tenth among men).

All models, entirely Made in Italy, are enhanced with the UTMB logo laser-etched directly onto the lens or inscribed on the side temples. The eyewear is presented in UTMB World Series branded cases and will be sold at the UTMB merchandise tent during the numerous calendar events and, starting in October, also on www.rudyproject.com

The Spinshield Pro will be available starting in October online and through Rudy Project’s authorized retailers. The UTMB World Series, part of Rudy Project’s official partnership with the famous trail running event through 2027, has been released in late August in Chamonix, just in time for the iconic HOKA UTMB Mont Blanc race.

Rudy Project is a partner through 2027 with the world's most important and prestigious trail running circuit, the UTMB World Series. During the finals, which took place last week in Chamonix, the Italian company officially unveiled the complete UTMB eyewear collection as well.
