Royal Robbins Uses Lower Impact Sustainability Practices For Spring 2023 Collection

Royal Robbins announced lower-impact practices for the production of its Spring 2023 collection that supports the brand’s climate goals by 2025. 

• Sixty-two percent of its Spring 2023 garments are made with materials that contain 50 percent or lower impact fibers, including preferred cotton, recycled polyester, certified forest materials, hemp, and preferred wool;
• Royal Robbins reduced the carbon footprint of its men’s shirt series, including Desert Pucker, by switching to carbon-zero Tencel Modal fibers, certified as CarbonNeutral products by Natural Capital Partners; 
• Royal Robbins expanded its use of natural and recycled materials, with 80 percent of poly-based garments made from recycled polyester; 
• Eighty-eight percent of cotton-based Spring 2023 styles are made with preferred cotton, including organic cotton, which is grown in partner programs with farmers to reduce the company’s environmental impact through improved water, land and chemical management practices; 
• For Spring 2023, Royal Robbins is introducing unbleached and undyed fabrics used in the Vacationer hemp knit blend. This new style uses up to 80 percent fewer kilowatt-hours of energy, 80 percent fewer liters of water and 75 percent fewer chemicals than traditional piece dyeing;
• T trims (locker loop, zipper pull, cord locker loop, and woven labels) are made from recycled poly, lowering the brand’s use of energy and fossil fuels.

The initiatives support Royal Robbins 2025 climate goals. By 2025, the company set a target of a 40 percent reduction in its emissions in its owned and operated locations, including its offices, warehouse and retail stores. Royal Robbins also targeted a 50-percent reduction in emissions per product produced, considering categories, purchased products and services, and transport and distribution, by 2025.

Aligning with its climate goals, Royal Robbins intends to use more eco-conscious and sustainable fibers, with targets that include: 

• 80 percent recycled or bio-based polyester by 2025;
• 100 percent preferred cotton by 2025;
• 100 percent FSC or PEFC-certified man-made cellulosic by 2023; and
• 50-percent certified, traceable wool by 2025  

Royal Robbins Spring 2023 collection will be available beginning March 1, 2023 at specialty retailers, online at royalrobbins.com and Royal Robbins retail stores in Denver, Berkeley, CA, Modesto, CA, and Seattle.
