REI Expands Technology Leadership Team

Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op announced today an expanded technology leadership team with the addition of two new vice presidents. The company hired Analyn Nouri as its vice president of platform engineering, and promoted 15-year employee Todd Wilson to vice president of product engineering.

“Technology has a central role in the REI’s growth strategy, which includes serving 50 million members by 2030 through its stores, online platforms, experiences and more,” says Dan Shull, REI senior vice president and chief technology officer. “Analyn and Todd complete our technology leadership team and together with their colleagues they will leverage technology platforms, modernize our foundation and keep data secure.”

Anyone is welcome to shop at the country’s largest consumer co-op, but those who choose to be lifetime REI members enjoy a range of benefits that are supported by technology platforms.

Vice President, Platform Engineering

Nouri will head REI’s journey toward cloud-based platforms that support existing and future offerings, ensure the co-op has scalable infrastructure and data protection, and drive excellence in engineering tools and practices. “Analyn brings a passion for building great platforms that serve customers and enable business transformation,” says Shull. “She is a strong advocate for modern software engineering and her leadership will help us to continue our journey toward engineering excellence.”

“I am honored to be joining REI at such an exciting time. Technology is an amazing tool to help extend outdoor awareness and allow access for people who may have never felt that an active lifestyle can be within their reach,” says Nouri.

Prior to REI, she was with Ticketmaster for 21 years, most recently as the vice president of software engineering. Outside of work, Nouri enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, cooking and studying marine animals.

Vice President, Product Engineering

Todd Wilson will oversee the development of REI’s increasing scope of innovative, brand differentiating platforms. His teams are presently responsible for the technology that power the co-op’s e-commerce, content, membership, activity, experiences, rentals and re-commerce. Wilson has been with the co-op since 2006, serving in a variety of engineering and technology roles of increasing responsibility.

“Todd has long been a champion for technology modernization, continuous improvement and engineering empowerment that enable the co-op to deepen its relationship with the outdoor community,” adds Shull.

“I couldn’t be more excited to serve the co-op in this new role. We’re creating a seamless experience across the entire co-op to help people get outside and engage our members to join us in the fight to protect the environment and create an outdoors that is accessible and equitable for all,” shares Wilson.

Outside of work, Wilson enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, two daughters and their golden retriever. They ski and snowboard during the winter, and camp, mountain bike and explore the Pacific Northwest during the summer months. Todd also serves on the board of directors for the local non-profit the Service Board.
