Registrations Open For 34th Edition Of Alta Badia Maratona Dles Dolomites - Enel, Dedicated To Art

‘Ert’, meaning ‘art’ in Ladin: the theme chosen for the 34th edition of the Maratona remains the same, but, in 2021, organisers finally want to see our artwork complete. Ert is understood to mean the art of cycling, of dreaming and of imagining a future in which we can be together again without restrictions.

Together with the thousands of cyclists who’ll be taking part, it is the organisers intention to ensure that next year's Maratona will be a real masterpiece. Everyone wants to return to experience that wonderful thrill of cycling in the presence of the stunning piece of art we all know as the Dolomites.

The organisers still do not know what the situation will be like on July 4th 2021 - the day of the 34th Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel; however, they want to be optimistic and the organising committee is already working towards to ensure the smooth running of the event, monitoring the situation and studying possible solutions with the competent authorities. As always, the priority is to protect the health of all cyclists, volunteers and collaborators. However, organisers also wish to complete our unfinished work and satisfy the desire for cycling shared by all friends of the Maratona.

PARTICIPATION
The number of participants is still set at 9,000. After giving all drawn participants for the 2020 edition the chance to register for the 2021 edition, the 600 remaining places will be put into a new draw.
There are three ways to get a race number:

DOLOMITES LAND ART: THREE ROUTES OF OUTSTANDING BEAUTY

The Dolomites are one of the most exhilarating examples of what we may define as Mother Nature's art. Cycling in these magnificent surroundings, without having to worry about cars or motorbikes, is simply sublime. As always, there will be three routes winding their way around the mountain passes that have made cycling history, surrounded by enchanting landscapes: Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Falzarego, Giau and Valparola boast unparalleled charm and cycling along traffic-free roads under the Dolomite massifs is a truly unique experience - an endeavour of pure cycling art.

T-shirt ART Contest
Now is the time to unleash the artist in you. In line with the theme for the 34th edition, we’ll be launching an art contest in November: we’ll be asking all Maratona enthusiasts to send us a drawing, a piece of graphic art or an illustration based on the union between art and the Maratona. The winning image will be featured on the 2022 Maratona dles Dolomites–Enel t-shirts. Further information will be available shortly on our website and social media.

THE DOLOMITES BIKE DAY AND THE SELLARONDA BIKE DAY
For those who cannot take part in the highly popular Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel, in June there's the Dolomites Bike Day (Saturday 19th June) and the Sellaronda Bike Day (Sunday 27th June), two non-competitive cycling events accessible to everybody, no registration required. Two trails weave across the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel track and on other legendary trails, which are all closed to motorised traffic. www.dolomitesbikeday.it and www.sellarondabikeday.com
