Prinoth Brings Hydrogen To The Ski Slopes With New Groomer

Up until now, the operation of snow groomers has been inextricably linked to the consumption of diesel. The South Tyrolean manufacturer PRINOTH is now declaring war on fossil fuels and, with the new LEITWOLF h2MOTION concept model, is ensuring a cultural change and a world premiere at the same time: For the first time, a vehicle with a hydrogen fuel cell is entering the active test phase, thus outlining the future of resource-saving and sustainable slope management. In addition to the LEITWOLF, PRINOTH is also launching the HUSKY eMOTION, the latest all-electric snow groomer model.
“Our group of companies doesn't just talk about environmental protection, but also takes concrete steps: from the production of renewable energy to the manufacture and installation of wind turbines, from the implementation of innovative electric mobility in the public transport system and now the introduction of CO2-neutral snow groomers. For us, sustainability is not just a catchphrase, but an obligation, ”says the CEO of the HTI Group, Anton Seeber, who describes PRINOTH as a pioneer in this regard.
“With the LEITWOLF h2MOTION, our PRINOTH development teams have achieved the link between environmentally friendly drive and undiminished power. With the new model, we are combining all performance-related requirements and achieving 100 percent renunciation of fossil fuels ”, says PRINOTH CEO Klaus Tonhäuser. A comparison with the diesel LEITWOLF shows that the new, hydrogen-powered version has not lost any of its technical maximum values. In terms of engine power, the new concept vehicle with 544 hp (400 kW) can improve even further compared to the classic model and even surpass it.
A giant step on the way to becoming a climate-neutral ski resort
PRINOTH is thus starting a new era of slope preparation, which will also have a positive effect on the ecological balance of entire ski areas. For years, numerous ski areas have been making massive investments in various areas in increasing sustainability. In addition to the generation of energy and the increased use of regional resources, ecologically responsible slope management is the top priority. The LEITWOLF h2MOTION can already be admired on December 20 and 21 in Alta Badia on the Gran Risa slope, where the two ski world cup races will take place on Sunday and Monday.
New e-model completes the emission-free vehicle offensive!
In addition to the LEITWOLF h2MOTION, which in terms of drive is a combination of hydrogen fuel cell and electric motor, PRINOTH is also launching the HUSKY eMOTION, the latest all-electric snow groomer model. In doing so, the manufacturer is sending out an impressive signal of innovation in two of the most promising energy segments, which perfectly adapts alternative technologies to the challenging applications on sometimes difficult terrain.
